Just tried to enter Post 308 in Tulsa and was told I needed a sponsor to sign me in. I informed the bartender that my Legion Membership grants me access to All Legion Posts through out the World. He asked me to read some sign indicating that is “Their” policy. I told him I don’t care what your sign says. If they are a chartered Post they must abide by the Legion bylaws on membership admission. Kicker is my wife and I have been there numerous times before. Needless to say may be a long time before I grace their door again. So Legionnaires if you are traveling through Tulsa, be aware you may be turned away at Post 308.

So disappointed in this place. Was greeted by the bartender after buzzing 3 times to get in. Showed him my Legion Auxiliary card and he said we need to sign in. No problem, that’s customary for a visiting member from another post to do. Then he preceded to ask his members who would be willing to sponsor us. WHAT? A legion member does not need a sponsor, they are welcome in any legion any place in the world. The bartender then pointed to a sign that said visitors had to have a member sponsor them. Again WHAT? My husband and I have never been treated this way. And we have traveled all over the US and enjoyed visiting local Legions. And the kicker is we have been their numerous times before. So strange. Visiting fellow legion members beware, you may have trouble getting in.

I went there for a memorial service for a family member. It was well kept and large enough for a much bigger crowd then we. The kitchen was large and spacious with helpful women working very hard doing an amazing job keeping up with everything.
