If I made a list of the Top Hundred Reasons Why I Love to Visit Tulsa, this place would be pretty close to the top of the list. I make a point to stop here every time I visit the city. Of course I'm going to tell you why. I'm a Yelp Elite, that's how we do. LOL! First of all the shop is right on Historic Route 66, and I love how Oklahoma celebrates The Mother Road. Buck Atom's is located in an actual Route 66 gas station dating from the 1950s. The building was originally a Pemco Gas Station. Buck's calls itself a Cosmic Curio shop which might seem like a high falutin' name for a Souvenir Stand. But the name is totally appropriate because this is no ordinary souvenir stand. While they have plenty of souvenir items you would expect to find, like stickers, keychains and coffee mugs, they also boast a healthy selection of one of a kind Steam Punk and Sci-Fi items created by local artists. Take for example, the fantastic selection of Rayguns and Robots for sale. The Rayguns are crafted so meticulously that you almost can't believe they aren't operational. As fantastic as the Rayguns are, the Robots are even more appealing to my eye. Every time I visit Buck Atom's I spend most of my time appreciating the Robots. There are so many different kinds. Check out the photos attached to my review. There are a few very disirable commercially manufactured Robots. But the most interesting Robots here are those built from recycled materials. Some are cobbled together from discarded electronics, some from random kitchen utensils and old timey metal spice containers. All of them make me smile. Next visit I'm going to buy one of those fantastic Robots. I doubt that it would ever pass the TSA screening at the airport, so I'll probably have to mail it to myself. But whatever, Ima gettin' me one. One of the highlights of my most recent visit was discovering the OKIES trinket machine. For $5 a turn, this machine dispenses a little plastic figurine of one of five different famous Okies (Will Rogers, Buck Atom, Bass Reeves, The Golden Driller, Wiley Post). Soon as I saw that trinket machine I couldn't get out my money fast enough. I traded a five spot for a token from the counter person and slipped it into the slot. I turned the handle slowly and deliberatively. The capsule dropped down the chute with a very satisfying clunk. I was stoked that I got a Bass Reeves! Hell yeah! If I would've been able to choose my OKIE, that's the one I would've picked. As a souvenir stand, you will be hard pressed to find a better one than Buck Atom's Cosmic Curios. If you're looking for something to remember Tulsa or Oklahoma's section of Route 66 by, they've got a million choices here. That impressive selection of souvenirs, the fantastic Ray Guns and the mind blowing menagerie of Robots is why Buck Atom's gets 5 stars from me. Mikey C says: I love this place!

??????? ROAD TRIP USA - ROUTE 66 ???????? PIC 5 - LET'S TALK ABOUT OKLAHOMA AND ITS HIDDEN SECRETS...??#Wednesday saying goodbye to @texasgov and I will cross @route66 until arriving at @southcarolina and during that date I will post all these moments. Today's photo will be in the state of @travelok, more specifically in @cityoftulsa where @buckatomson66 is located, where you will be welcomed by a family-sized space cowboy, @buckatomson66 has several cool souvenirs from @route66official and some oddities that do it justice to the cowboy on the facade; the Golden Driller, a 25-meter-tall yellowish giant that sits proudly next to its oil derrick. Just out of curiosity, @cityoftulsa was once the largest onshore oil reserve in the USA, and at that time there were towers spread throughout the city. Follow my journey on @route66official and little by little I will share more information...????#wednesday saying goodbye to @texasgov and driving through @travelok on the @route66official. Today’s PIC is in @buckatomson66 who is a unique twist on the legacy of “muffler men” that dot the @route66official landscape. In the days before the US Interstate Highway System was built, @route66official was one of the primary roads for taking American travelers across the Southwest. The giant cowboy welcomes visitors to @buckatomson66 a gift shop selling a variety of souvenirs, clothing, neon signs, and other memorabilia dedicated to the mystique of America’s Mother Road. By the way, Totally worth the drive and take a time at the store. We need to support places like this on the @route66official!!!??.....#wednesday #thefabiosilva #youtube #tiktok #instagram #facebook #picoftheday #iphone13promax #travelusa #roadtrip #travelblogger #roadtripusa #travelgram #photography #naturephotography #instatravel #traveling #unitedstates #adventure #exploreusa #route66 #traveladdict #roadtonowhere #livinthedream #buckatomscosmiccurioson66 #tulsa #oklahoma #usa??????

We went today and had lunch at the Country Q BBQ barbecue trailer in the same parking lot. It was very good. I had the ribs and brisket, baked beans and potato salad. Give him a try. This store was fun to go into, I enjoyed looking at all of the stuff and I bought two t shirts. Going there for lunch and souvenirs is a very good idea.

Lovely little Route 66 souvenir store. Lots of fun knickknacks and local art at great prices. Don’t forget to get your passport stamped and take a picture with the kooky statues!Behind this storefront is Buck’s Vintage. It’s extremely well curated with a great selection, but the prices are on the higher side. I’d say around 2-3x higher than my area in central Oklahoma. Lots of treasures so if you’re looking for something a bit more special it’s worth a visit!
