Prosperity is the worst bank I have ever used. The only reason I kept them as long as I did is because my employer used them. Literally nothing good to say about them.

My parents were long term patrons of Prosperity (almost 20 years). Long story short my dad passed away and then my mom became incapacitated. Even though my sister and I became the recognized POA of our family trust, Prosperity had difficulty accepting the fact. We had trouble moving and withdrawing funds to help with our mom's care and they were reluctant to let me have access to the safe deposit box. When we finally decided to close the account and move it to her more accomadating and understanding banking institution they decided that they needed another copy of my dad's death certificate (ok anyone who knows anything about banks knows they have to have death certificates ASAP after the person passes....they had received one 10 years ago). Fortunately, I had a copy but when I produced that then all of sudden the trust had to be reevaluated again by their "legal" dept. Best of all was their parting gesture when the woman issuing the check condescendingly informed me that it was written to the trust and not to me personally. It was also at this time that she called my mom by the wrong first name. Not a sympathetic/empathetic group. Not sure they understand the the stress and heartache involved with taking care of a sick, infirmed parent. I did reach out via email to D. Zalman CEO of Prosperity and he said he would look into it but I never heard another word.

Horrible customer service.Extremely long wait times. Poor communications from agent. Just a really poor overall experience. If I could leave 0 stars would do so.

Great people and I feel like a valued client. The 81st & Memorial location is my favorite!
