Better than before.
But they still need to improve upon things. Joe is still in the front office. And the food is way better.
Hot water and the family building elevator now works.

Being homeless is a highly stressful experience. In this shelter the residents are treated very poorly by most members of management. For example, people are often thrown out at the whim of management. Recently, a 67 year old woman was put back on the street for not following one particular rule having to do with putting things on the bed. When this happened, the temperature was freezing. Earlier this year, this same woman suffered a broken arm because management failed to salt the walkways. Residents frequently have their things thrown away if anything is left out in the room. One resident who was on her way to the airport had her luggage and backpack thrown out. The majority of this prison guard mentality rests with two women, both of whom are from a temp agency. For a population of people who need tolerance, clear posted rules and guidelines, this facility fails repeatedly.

I love what the Salvation Army in downtown Tulsa does for the people who need it the most. The staff is very kind and generous with their hearts. they help a lot of people we need more of that.

With faith hope and charity the Salvation Army provides go all levels of our community from the people whom are without a permanent residence . to those needing assistance from mental health to medical medication, utilities assistance and counceiling to just being a ear and shoulder. Asking nothing but the happiness they can see in those who have had a weight lightened and a burden solved. No thanks ever wanted just the satisfaction of seeing those helped succeed in life. The differant levels I started with those in need seeking help from the Salvation army. Then the staff. The vollenteers. The city county state personnel contributions. But the level that counts the most is you the donatord who donate to help keep the doors open So that all of these good works can continue.Thank you all and know your all blessed for your contributions.

Im grateful that this place has offered to let me and my family stay here. I tell people it’s better to be here than in the car. But, truthfully, my expectations were let down after day 2 of being in here. The lack of Communication plays a major role, they don’t inform you about what you can/can’t have in the family rooms.Meaning, you can’t cook nor refrigerate anything. They don’t want you to have any food in the rooms. They honestly expect you to just ride it out with kids till the next day, for breakfast. Which is milk and a small bowl of cereal.Dinner is served at 4:30pm, so you know the kids will be hungry after that.I’m just more concerned on how they treat the kids well being.Holding the new families accountable because of whatever happened in the past. Some Adults actually know how to live proper. And keep the room clean. They are more worried about you not having food in your rooms, than if the heat is working in our rooms???????? Red flag!Kids are starving and Freezing here. The Rooms have ABSOLUTELY NO HEAT !!!!!! The hallways and stairwells have heat!! Not the rooms.Kids shouldn’t be cold in the rooms. At least think about the kids. There’s a lack of compassion that comes with this facility. The lack of hot water is a problem too. It lasts no longer than 3 mins. I just wish there was more to this place than bad hospitality. This has taught me a lot about how Salvation Army is being run by non-compassionate individuals.

If this is an example of how a Christian Faith based facility is operated, I would really stop throwing away your money in those red kettles. I have had a front row seat for the ineptitude and apathy and can't possibly fathom what they do with all that money. The heat has been stuck on in this building for a minimum of 8 months... EIGHT MONTHS. Every time the wweather cools enough for the heater to be turned on, it never stops pumping out heat and super heats the second floor to 90+ degrees, but since it's tolerable downstairs for the staff, guests suffer every single night endlessly. The urinals in the downstairs mens restroom have been broken for months as well, not to mention they are about as clean as the worst truck stop bathroom you have ever seen. They spent money on fancy filtered water fountains you are expected to drink from... except the red lights for a full filter have been on for months and the water com8ng out its being strained through a full filter of garbage. Security is as lazy as useless. You have to wait for some staff to stop chatting on their phones to check you in or ask a question at the desk, and will literally let case workers helping out at the front desk do their job while they play on their phones. Good case workers are quitting because they are sick of it and are always the last to know what's going on or what changes are being made without their input or knowledge. Roaches infest the mens bathroom upstairs. Honestly, it's shameful and your donations are better spent on those that come down here and pass out hygiene products, clothing, or even sack lunches which gives us a break from eating the same meal for lunch and dinner... usually beans. The groups that come down here and don't just assume your money's being spent well.... God Bless you all, we appreciate you. Don't believe me? Take a day to check and stay, see for yourself everything in this review is 100% accurate... and every single person in charge of this place should be ashamed to call themselves Christians.
