I went to my primary care doctor about a lump on my hand and was told it should be removed. They told me they were going to make a referral for an ultrasound of my hand and to a surgeon to remove it. Got a call to schedule the ultrasound and got it done. Then got a call from the general surgery office to make an appointment to get it removed. Went to my appointment and was told by the doctor he doesn’t know why I’m there. Or why my primary care doctor would send me to him he doesn’t do this type of stuff. That I need to see a hand specialist/surgeon and he will put in a referral for me to see one. (I wasn’t in his office 5 minutes)I call my doctors office and tell them what happened and I don’t think I should have to pay for that office visit. They told me it looks like they sent me to the wrong place she will have the office manager call me. The next day the office manager calls me and said they did send me to the right place. She doesn’t know why the doctor would tell me that he doesn’t do that type of thing. Now 3 weeks later I receive a bill from the general surgery doctors office for $340 and still haven’t heard from a hand specialist/surgeon.I don’t think I should be responsible for this bill or have to pay it.1. My primary care doctor sent a referral for me to the wrong place. How would I of known that?2. Why would the general surgery doctors office call me to make an appointment for something they don’t do? (Knowing what I was coming in for)3. I took off work for this appointment that should have never been made to begin with.4. I still haven’t heard from a hand specialist/surgeon.5. My hand still hasn’t been taken care of.It seems like the ball has been dropped every step of the way besides the billing department and they haven’t seemed to care.(All doctors involved are St. John’s doctors)

I’ve been sitting in this hospital emergency room for over six hours and still haven’t seen the doctor. What would happen if there were a catastrophe in Tulsa? This hospital isn’t up to the task. Cadavers will be stacking up the emergency room. I don’t know what the problem is space, beds, rooms, technicians doctors, but this hospital needs to be closed until they can improve the response time

Ashley, the sleep technician was seriously so sweet and very genuine. She made me feel comfortable and helped me when I had questions and she could keep a conversation which these days is definitely something!! She made me as comfortable as possible. If I ever know of anyone who needs to have a sleep study done I will absolutely recommend this place and will tell them to request Ashley!

This is a review of St John's pre-op procedures and facility.First of all, I realize the facility is too big for the campus. Parking in the parkade is horrendous, but you really don't have much of a choice otherwise.Walking into the pre-op/surgical waiting area I was very surprised at the very poor condition of the area. My upcoming surgery is 3 maybe 4 hours long and my spouse has to sit in a waiting area that I would consider to be no better than the Greyhound bus station, not that I've ever been in a Greyhound bus station but I could imagine. Let's just say it is WORSE than the airport. I've had operations at St Francis and Oklahoma Surgical Hospital and they're waiting rooms are by FAR superior to St John. Your loved one is being operated on, you should be able to have an area that is tranquil, relaxing, and above all else comfortable.(Added 8/14/23. I do realize that waiting rooms are transient in nature. However, when the health of your loved one is hanging in the balance during an operation, your surroundings means everything. A well appointed waiting room can reduce stress levels and improve mental health of those that are waiting. Something the administration should take into an account but have failed to do so.)After a short wait, 15 mnutes or so, I was called back in to the pre-op room which is an old hospital room. I found it very odd to see a toilet in the corner of the room. Not hid behind a curtain, not in a toilet closet but just right out in the open. Please sir, have a seat! I will be honest, the deplorable conditions of the waiting room and the pre-op room made me want to just get up and walk out and have my surgery somewhere else.As far as the staff member that I checked in with, I would not say she was not friendly, but nor was she friendly. She was way too busy chatting and having a conversation with her co-workers than pay attention to me, the patient. The only reason why I'm going to St John for this procedure is because of the physician that I have been referred to. I do not have time to search out another physician, go through testing, and start the procedure back over, I need this operation now. Otherwise St John Hospital would not be my first choice.8/14/23 this review is regards surgery and my hospital stay.I arrived at the pre-op surgical registration desk where I was greeted by the same person who waited on me a week before. In reviewing the paperwork we discovered that my last name was spelled incorrectly. Therefore she asked me for my photo ID which of course I've been told to leave all valuables including my wallet at home. Now mind you I did all the paperwork for pre-registration beforehand including downloading all my IDs and insurance cards. I explained this to the young lady who then jumped all over me because, well you didn't do it for the surgery. My first question is, can ASJH not meld my information and paperwork into one file. That's just crazy. After which, it was a few minutes before I was taking back to, yes that little room with the toilet. Seriously this room looks like it came from 1940s military era.I arrived at 10:00 a.m. for a 12 noon surgery however, my surgery didn't launch until after 4pm.The OR was absolutely top notch just what you would expect and the staff was beyond wonderful. I knew I was going to be well taken care of.Recovery, well, no memory of that! Sorry! In my room. The bedside light switches in my room did not work and it's my understanding it's that way with all rooms. If a member of Staff left your room and left the lights on you would have to call them back in to turn the lights off. That is ridiculous. The clock nor the soap dispensers in my room worked as well. Picture attached is a 1:00 or 2:00?As far as the staff regarding the day of surgery and my hospital stay, each and every staff member I encountered are 10 plus stars. They made me very comfortable, each one was carrying and compassionate. I cannot say enough about the care I received.AJSH hospital had over 1.9 billion in Revenue l

My experience with my recent visit was excellent! Every single person I encountered went above and beyond to help me. One fantastic person (I so wish I remembered her name) even walked me out of the building I was in, walked me across the street, into the building and part of the way to my appointment. And, I had a mammogram, usually a horrible experience, and the technician was awesome! She even made me laugh so hard we had to take a minute before finishing. I did not mention that by the time I reached the receptionist, I was already over 30 minutes late for my appointment. The receptionist never said a word about my lateness, and was very professional. However, I do need to mention, the directions to mammography and the directions in my head as to how to get to my appointment, were at opposite ends. As a result, I parked in the Williams parking area, and my appointment was in the new Mary K. Chapman Center for Breast Health, and that is where all of my problems lie. So many things in this hospital start with Mary K Chapman. I was sent to five different places by four different people, that all started with Mary K. Chapman. They were all correct, but all wrong for what I needed. I also did not mention that I have an autoimmune disease that makes walking very difficult. The bright spot of this dissertation is that I now know all of the sky bridges in all of the buildings are connected. The heat index on this day was over 104°. Also not good for my disease. But, now that I know about the wonderful sky bridges, I know I will be able to find what I need. The short story: Humans working here go above and beyond all requirements. Directions given: Not so much.

The staff at St John’s provided me with excellent service, from the surgical team, to the young staff of nurses , medical assistants, and lab workers, they showed patience, and a true caring for the individual, along with the highest degree of professionalism, that were within their experience and knowledge. I am very happy with my care , and feel blessed and fortunate that I was able to be placed in their compassionate hands. The spiritual reinforcement I received from both priest , and reverends were also a great source of comfort and uplift , again my thanks to the entire medical staff of St John’s!

It took a bit to be seen but there was a lot going on in the ER! My overnight nurse and aid were amazing after surgery making sure I stayed comfortable and not hurting or needing anything and I was so grateful to them! My surgeon was great too.

I always choose St. John’s for everything. I get my primary care done at the Riverside unit and my family has been treated at the hospital here at this location several times. Recently, my grandpa gave us a big scare and had a near death accident. The nurses and doctors here were very nice and informative at all hours of the day. His main nurse was so kind and funny, she was great! He is definitely grumpy and she handled his attitude and even gave us a laugh when she’d stop in. I recommend them to everyone. They are the best providers out there.

I recently delivered my second baby at St John and had a great experience. Having a nursery and nurse for my baby that is separate from my own nurse was a game changer compared to my first baby delivered at another Tulsa hospital that did not offer this. I felt like I had a more restful hospital stay and was able to go home in better condition. Overall, the nurses and techs for both myself and baby were wonderful. I would not hesitate to delivery at St. John in the future.

We had a really great experience. Our nurses and doctors took great care of not only me but my daughter and family as well. Everyone was encouraging and supportive. All the people that took care of us were positive and cheerful and never made me feel any negative feelings. While my daughter has been in the NICU, everyone there has done nothing but take care of my daughter with the best of their ability. I am very happy to have had great nurses and to have good nurses taking care of my daughter ❤️ so thank you St. John for being awesome.

Disclaimer: I am an employee of Ascension St. John's. So this review is not on the health service but is on the cafeteria.I do like the cafeteria of Ascension St. John's main. They do have decent varieties of food for breakfast and lunch. I would often get oatmeal for breakfast. The oatmeal is really soft and soggy which I like. For lunch, I usually grab whatever is available which varies on a daily basis. There's a Starbucks coffee shop not too far away from the cafeteria which is nice for better coffee. They however do not take gift cards though. Having a Starbucks is the main reason why I am giving Ascension St. John a 4 stars.

I flew in from San Diego on the ninth because my daughter was having a baby a month early and on the 10th with the help of this hospital and amazing staff we had a beautiful baby granddaughter. From labor and delivery to the Nicu every nurse we encountered was phenomenal. I was amazed by this hospital. Everyone was kind, everyone was welcoming. I felt like we were talking to friends and people that genuinely cared and loved their job. The care they took of my daughter, the patience and sensitivity they showed her was, for a Mom to watch her daughter having her first baby was relieving. The care of my Granddaughter... I am forever grateful. This hospital is spotless as well. Very clean. The cafeteria was fantastic, from the fun grilled food to the staff there, very awesome. The Starbucks, wonderful. Thank you Ascension St John. I wish I could hug everyone of you

Came in to the ER for new onset seizures. I was told I was waiting for an MRI and was left in the ER with no updates. After a grueling 14 hours of not being allowed to eat or get up on my own my MRI was done and I was admitted. Technicians for the MRI's said the order was never put in so I was mostly waiting for nothing. I was admitted that night and had a room. I was awoken four separate times during the night by staff and was brought meals I didn't want. I was told that by 5 PM the next day I would be released. Six tubes of blood were taken and I was waiting until almost 11 PM until I was released. Truly shameful how negligent this hospital has become. No one has any answers to your questions nor do they seem too concerned about helping answer your questions. Don't go to this hospital unless you're dying, they won't treat you otherwise. I would ask a nurse about my status on something and they'd go pretend to ask someone in charge and never come back. It's incredible. Kindly never take yourself or your loved ones here.
