Beware of rate increases.
I have been renting a 10x15 climate controlled unit for around 4 years. Every year my rate gets increased by 20%. I just received a letter they are raising my rent to $174. The advertised price on a unit my size is $124. They are charging me $600 more per year than the advertised price.
When I spoke to an associate and asked them the reason for the rate increase, she explained my rate is higher due to the longevity of my account. I don't quite understand the business model, but it seems the longer you are a Spare Box customer the more you pay.
I plan to move out before the rate increase hits.

Great place. Just don't ask for anything extra that's not clearly stated. Customer service via email was kind of rude however the place is very nice, there's not any riff Raff here and the people here are generally nice. What's cool is you can pay your bill 24 hours a day and get your unlock code in case you do get locked out. Just don't ask for late night access code or 24-hour access because they're pretty rude about it but otherwise a great place.
