Joe & Val's NOFRILLS Aurora

Grocery Stores
Hours: Joe & Val's NOFRILLS Aurora is a generally clean, well-organized, and very economical store for daily groceries, known for fair prices and fresh produce. It is conveniently located. Most experiences are good, with very friendly and helpful staff noted, though some find the product selection decent but not massive. Weekly deals change every Thursday and are often pretty good. Some criticisms include that the carts require quarters, which is extremely annoying as many no longer carry change. Observations of staff behavior are mixed. While some staff are amazing, others, often teens on the floor, are noted for not helping customers and being busy with their cell phones, seemingly without supervision. Specifically, stockboys are mentioned for gathering loudly, sometimes laughing and swearing, while blocking aisles with carts and wearing heavy cologne, which can be a sensitivity issue. The lack of organized management to break up these gatherings is noted as a recent change from earlier times. A request is made for the store to consider selling more Indian spices and vegetables for greater variety.
