This place was recommended by a co-worker. The first visit cost us huge money, which was fine as I wanted to make sure her car was safe for my daughter. They insisted it needed a rack and pinion replacement which included a four wheel alignment. Fast forward just over a year later, her front tires are bald on inside fronts. Went back for another alignment they refused due to subframe rot, she left the shop and now her steering is messed up and they won't return a phone message. Buyer beware!

My daughter purchased a used vehicle that needed to be certified and I was recommended to this place by a co-worker. The first visit cost us huge money, which was fine as I wanted to make sure her car was safe. They said it needed a rear exhaust and a rack and pinion steering replacement which included a four wheel alignment. Fast forward just over a year later, her front tires are almost bald on one the side of the tire treads. When it was time to switch her tires over to winter ones, We went back in good faith to get another alignment and after a half hour inspection they said they won't do it because the subframe is too corroded and quoted us another immense amount of money to fix it. Then a day later her steering wheel went way out of alignment for no reason, so I called them back and had to leave a message and they never returned my phone call. The fact that they ghosted us speaks volumes and if they were an honest company they would have seen the subframe was starting to go before installing a rack and pinion steering system and advised us about it back then. Just a cash grab operation. Beware and get a second opinion before trusting this auto shop.

Shops are shops but service is not always service. James, Vanessa and the team there truly care about you and your vehicle. They actually listen and give you the best advice to meet your budget and needs. I don’t know if my next car will be new or used but I do know this is my service shop.

We Talke To south view Too 336 young st .a 2011 Ford F550 to fax it and they couldn't find out with it and only change starter on this Truck and charge me 1010.98 just for change starter .not appy at all with there service. Not Recumbent .no

Five Stars Aren’t Enough for Southview!
We’ve had three vehicles serviced at Southview, and honestly, we wouldn’t take them anywhere else. As busy as they are (and they are busy for a reason!), they always make time for their customers. The team is warm, friendly, and genuinely cares—like that rare combo of skilled mechanics and good-hearted humans.
They’ve done everything from fixing other mechanics' mistakes to keeping our “should-have-retired-years-ago” car alive and kicking. They're budget-conscious, non-judgmental, and incredibly honest—even when I’ve accidentally left my dash cam on (oops). 😅
They communicate by phone and text (which is a huge plus in today’s world), and they’re amazing at explaining things in a way that even someone who knows nothing about cars (read: me) can understand. Every time, they lay out all the options clearly—no pressure, just facts—so you can make the best decision for your situation.

They tried to quote me $1000 for a wheel bearing replacement. I went down the road and got it done for $250. As a single dad, I'm glad I didn't waste my money on these people.

I have been going to this location for over 5 years. 2 years ago it transitioned to Southview Too and things got BETTER! There is not a garage in Barrie that provides this type of service and pricing - especially for luxury import vehicles! I very highly recommend them for import, domestic, luxury and otherwise! You will NOT be disappointed!

They treated us with professionalism and kindness after our car just would not start on the first stop of our cross-Canada excursion. They took us in on short notice and (fingers crossed) solved our problem. We were on the road again, a day late, but that was fantastic given the circumstances. I could not recommend them more highly nor thank them enough. Special thanks to the receptionist who was very kind and caring to us and our circumstances.

I just had another experience with Southview Two on Yonge Street in Barrie, the front receptionist is awesome and gave me great service along with the mechanic on duty in a super timely manner.

Front end staff were nice, but I was overcharged worked that was not needed, 4 mechanics pushing front end in shop saying it's my struts( which were only year and a bit replaced already, as I was not seen standing near garage doors watching and listening, Went home got the quote for 2400 bucks to repair, told them to go ahead as I need car for work, I get call next day to pick up, it is ready and fixed. Pick up vehicle drive home and the same noise car making as when I 1st bought it in, called explaining again the same problem told me not to worry bring it back, for them to tell me now it's my axel but won't charge for the labor just the part.. ya ok... how about ya return my $2400 for the so called 1st fix.. would not deal with this shady shop..

Went in for a tune up and so much more. Since my father passed, the previous owners and the current one have ALWAYS taken care of my mom's cars.
Professional and caring - a rare combination in businesses these days....
