Looking to learn more in my fitness journey and get out of my comfort zone of working out at home for two years, I decided to try CrossFit. The Cabin happened to be local to me, which is why I choose them, but I'm glad I did. The coaches I've met so far, (I'm about 10 weeks in), have been so great. They are supportive, encouraging, helpful and are there to help you succeed. The members have been very welcoming and friendly. I'm not a hugely social person and I wondered how I would 'fit in' to the 'CrossFit community'. but it's totally fine. It is a nonjudgmental environment. Even though I had a lot of learning to do (and still do), they have been helping me learn in a positive way, every step of the way. I have a co-worker that joined a different CrossFit gym in Barrie and pays the same I do monthly but is only allowed to go 3x a week (which seems counterintuitive to me). The Cabin wants you to come in and give your best, as much as you want. The also have Intro classes to help noobs like myself. It's also very family supporting atmosphere.Can't say enough good things, and I'm glad I decided to join. If you're considering CrossFit, I encourage you to come to The Cabin CrossFit, and check them out for yourself.

Amazing place with such awesome people! Although I did the classes for only a month, I really enjoyed my first ever experience doing CrossFit. The staff/coaches are highly knowledgeable and skilled, the workouts are challenging and intense, the facility was clean and organized and the people were super friendly! I immediately felt welcomed by everyone and was encouraged even though I was a beginner. The energy there is amazing. Highly recommend if you're in Barrie or in the surrounding cities!

My wife and I dropped in for 3 days during a family visit. We have both been doing CrossFit for a few years and this facility was great. They are set up into stations to prevent the spread of COVID with everything you need in your station. Over our 3 days we had 3 different coaches and all of them were excellent. A variety of coaching strategies but we feel we learned something different from each one of them. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone interested in CrossFit.

Amazing establishment. amazing owner. this place is full with people who love to motivate each other. I highly recommend this place for getting fit, being part of a great community and being coached by fantastic coaches who are passionate about there jobs!

The owner of The Cabin CrossFit really goes above and beyond the business aspect of running a business, to really make this gym a community and support her members. Even when not a member, I was invited to try it, indoors, outdoors, and different venues. The owner and coaches were really there to support their gym community during covid when times were especially tough. I found this inspirational. All the coaches I have met so far are knowledgeable and motivational, ensuring safe workouts/movements and a safe environment. The gym is clean and members are enthusiastic! A great place for any level of your fitness journey!

The owner of Cabin CrossFit has gone to great extent to ensure that every member feels welcomed into‘The Cabin Family’. This is a clean, safe environment full of coaches that go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable with all Crossfit movements and support you wherever you are on your fitness journey. Every level of athlete participates at this box and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. This is truly a community gym with excellent leadership at its head.

Great place. Did CrossFit for the first time here years ago always felt welcome. Coaches are amazing. Kate took over the gym and I was happy to hear that. Always loved her coaching and dedication to detail. Members are all welcoming. Great for beginners and experienced people

I have been a member of the Cabin since August 2019 and it has been amazing! I joined with no experience in CrossFit and each coach has made me feel welcome and pushed me out of my "comfort zone" with motivation and patience. Because of this and the encouragement of my fellow members, I have accomplished things I didn't think were possible!

I’ve been a member of this gym for 5 years. Fun and welcoming atmosphere, fantastic coaching and family friendly environment, I’ve brought my son since he was a baby and coaches were always willing to hold him or help out so I could get my workout done. The gym is recently under new ownership and I can honestly say this owner cares about every single person who walks through their door and works towards helping you achieve your own personal fitness goals. Highly recommend you try or re-try this gym.

Been coming to the cabin for 18 months, it's a warm and welcoming experience. The coaching is great and the members there create an inviting community, especially for the newer people. Kate the new owner has put all her energy into reinvigorating the equipment and atmosphere, If you're looking for a new box, this one is definitely worth checking out.

I want to prefix this review with splitting into 2 distinctive parts: Workout vs Business Practice.TL;DR - loved the gym, member's and trainers, think the owner's business practices were questionable.Workout: 5/5We signed up online through their website. We read the reviews and were impressed. My partner and I are experienced with Crossfit and workouts (I'm also a fitness trainer and run my own clinics). We were thrilled to have met the coaches and members there - consequently, on the day I went, randomly bumped into someone I went to highschool with. Dex was our coach, she took us outside, explained the WOD and got us on our merry way to a warm-up and strength exercise drills. She was attentive with everyone there, coached each move with quality, precision and patience (brace core, bend the bar, knees out, etc.). I was impressed. The members were friendly, it was truly a Crossfit atmosphere.Business: 0/5When we finished class, we inquired about future classes and going again on Monday. We were extremely grateful when the staff told us we could do the first class under a trial for free. We asked on 2 occasions (beginning of class and end) to pay for the drop-in fee of $20. A few hours after we left the gym, we had gotten an email from the owner, Brent, about whether we had paid for the drop-in fee cash $20 as there was 'nothing in the cash box'. My response (in a nutshell) was simply 'we were told this was a free trial and if this is a mistake we plan to return on Monday and happy to pay for the for both days'. The response from the owner was basically their trainers have 'no idea'. I felt this business practice was unfortunate and unprofessional to put the onus on customer about the gym's processes. I have included the emails for proof in this review.My bigger interest in writing this review was when you treat your prospective clients this way, what does this say about the gym and how the owner treats their staff?
