Took my car there for a safety knowing it should have passed safety and they decided to fail it and charge me $150 for it gave me a list of a new full exhaust and I had a hole in the bottom. I take my car to second opinion they said they don’t know how it didn’t pass safety and that there is no hole underneath and i just need a small part of a exhaust that would coast $70 instead of the $600 this place was trying to get out of me. I truly think they just wanted my money n knew id spend it if told too my second opinion gave me a safety for $100 and it passed.

We had a vehicle emergency with our boat trailer while driving back home to Cornwall from Peterborough. We first stopped at CarStar who said they don’t do repairs like that and gave us this business card. Our wheel was about to fall off. We drove to this business going about 15-18 kms, unfortunately slowing down traffic. We had our children in our vehicle. We arrived at this garage which says it’s “complete auto repair”, and the older gentleman looked at our tire and said he couldn’t help us. He gave us the address for another garage. We arrived at the other garage who immediately looked at it and said we needed a new rim which we had as we had a brand new spare. We just needed new lug nuts, grease and a dust cap. The garage mechanic was so friendly, took us right away and the charge was impressively $31.00.
My question is, why would you turn us away if you’re supposedly a complete auto repair garage? Very poor service if you ask me. I do understand that garages are busy but we had a tire that was going to fall off and he was okay allowing us to drive to the next garage.
