On my recent visit to this grocery store I bought Full Moon packaged shrimp 400 gms and some more shrimp from the stall selling seafood. When I opened the packaged shrimp there were only 15 shrimp that weighed approximately 150 gms and the rest was ice. The shrimp bought from the store look good but they are very sweet in taste so obviously they have been injected to look big and presentable to customers. The fish most of the time look stale and priced high. Vegetables are also expensive compared to other grocery stores. The prices marked for some vegetables and fruits on the shelves are different when cashing out. Hope proper checks are made at this grocery store who earn money by dishonest means.

I agree the items at OCEANS on WEST DRIVE are pricey than the competition. Example: OCEANS (WEST DR) : $1.75 FRESHWIN (KENNEDY) : $0.79 And I concur, the staff at the meat department are not friendly, kinda rude sometimes.

Horrible experience. Was told that my support dog was not welcome and that given that he is being carried in a satchel he offers no support. Provided them with my Dr letters from the Hamilton cancer Center and nobody could be bothered to even look. They continued their none sense and went out of their way to make me feel uncomfortable. The security guard stood behind the manager randomly adding irrelevant facts that clearly he knows nothing about. I have include a picture so you can see what a nuisance me and my dog are. I should have also mentioned that on my way out I was stop my 3 different cahiers who commented on how cute and well behaved he was. I bring him to my hospital visits and I have never had an issues. Thor is a good boy and stays calm for hours at a time. He’s the perfect support dog and allows me a lot of freedoms because of his emotional support.****************************Ontario Human Rights CodeThe definition of “disability” under the Ontario Human Rights Code includes any person with a physical reliance on a guide dog or other animal. The Code recognizes all types of dogs, as well as other animals serving as service animals which includes emotional support animals. The Ontario Human Rights Commission has stated that “service animals for people with psychiatric disabilities or addictions do not have to be trained or certified by a recognized disability-related organization.”Duty to accommodateAccording to the Code, organizations have a legal obligation to not refuse entry or access to a building, premise, good, or service on the basis that the person uses a service animal. Failing to accommodate an individual with a guide dog or service animal is potentially a failure to accommodate a disability and ultimately a ground for a discrimination complaint.PenaltyThe penalty for infringing on an individual’s right that is covered under the Code can result in a fine of not more than $25,000.

Best thing Garden Center. You can get herbs, flowers, vegetable plants at reasonable rates. Vast asian variety Vegetables are reasonable but buy what you can consume quickly. Stay away from the packaged items like nuts, paneer etc. Cash/Debit only so don't forget to bring your debit card or enough cash.

I love the garden center, I visit every year. This store has a large variety of vegetables and mushrooms and has great deals. This store also has a great deli, with a large variety of items and very pleasant staff. The sushi is also yummy and their selection of green teas and sauces is quite thorough. I like that they have many organic options. And of course, a large selection of ethnic foods. The cashiers are also very nice and helpful and actually help bag your groceries. Always a pleasure to visit.

Cheap groceries but low quality. You get what you paid for.I bought a box of tofu a few days ago. The expiration date says June 15, but it was already spoiled in May. I tried to return it, but the woman said perishable food must be returned in 24 hours. Today is June 2nd, and the expiration is June 15th. It's not supposed to go bad anyway. It's not about the $2, I wanted to alert them about the food quality, perhaps storage failures. The woman then said, "How do you even know it's bad?" Tofu is a block. This thing was like cottage cheese and smells like vinegar. She did give me the refund in the end, but I doubt they would identify and ratify the problems. The customers are awful as well. I'm at the 10-item-or-less express lane, and 2 customers have a cart full, like 30+ items. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they didn't see the sign, so I alert them to the sign. One woman was like, "Yeah, 10 items," and then ignored me. The other one just pretended she didn't see me. The cashier doesn't bother to tell them either. So they don't have an express lane. The money you saved is paid by your time.

The grocery prices are reasonable. Very few of the staff speak English, the cashiers do the bare minimum. However, the prepared food is quick and easy and delicious. It's my main reason to shop there.

Hot plate food service forget you're in CANADA,RIP ENGLISH- no English speaking workers. Worst and rudest costumer service with so much demeanor and attitude at the Chinese food corner,Gosh you basically suppose to go there, point on mirror any ask them to throw some food in container - don't ask no question as they are rude and speak no English. No smile, no thanks, no sorry - just take your food container and get the F out lol ?. I wanted to ask if there was just a meat take out option, but no point as there is no option to ask lol.No credit cards policy which is not written properly anywhere, basically you spend whole hour shopping in stinky store with rudest costumer service and zombies walking around and then you gotta figure out payment options.I cannot ask anything anyone because no one knows language and there is no manager to be found.Make sure to follow hand hygiene practices before and after leaving or touching anything in this no English speaking store.

My first time shopping at Oceans. I was so excited to get some fun goodies for my kids lunches since we had a really tough week. I had a full basket of fun snacks and drinks, only to be humiliated in front of every in line, and have everyone shake their heads at me. If you don't accept credit cards, then have a sign instead of a little hand written note at the cash register that's barely noticeable. This actually ruined my day, to an already horrible week I've had. I had so much fun picking these treats for my children, and literally emptied everything I got back out on the belt. This alone, makes you have a 1 star! Some people only have credit cards, and don't carry cash!
