Well in general you get what you need. Long wait at the cash. Had to hunt to get a basket. Found one at the cashier. Carts are only available with deposited. Stuff is there - but greeting customers seems to be overrated. Not a welcoming atmosphere. A lot of times there is also a wiered smell in the store. Limits my shopping a lot to only do the necessary. Also not my first choice of grocery store - but you know, ones you are at the mall is just convenient.

They always seem to have what I need in stock. It's small things like buggies barely fitting through the checkouts (they are never all open so getting rid of one would make sense) and being able to get a hand basket that drop my rating to 4. The check outs are squeezed way too tight together. Some to the point of having to force it through and knocking candy off the racks. The cashier's are always polite and friendly but you can see they are short whether it is a choice by management or not being able to hire. The new scene card program seems good so far.

The cashier from when I went Friday, was very professional and kind. The person in front of me in line paid about $30 worth entirely in quarters, she patiently counted them all and then collected the rest of the payment owed. I really respect her being able to handle that as quickly as she did.

I walk all the way up here for sale items that are never here, and other prices are higher than anywhere else, even the other food basics. Almost seems like the prices were raised due to location, which is a rotten move.Suffers the same lack of stock as the whole city, very disappoining.

Easy access to the parking lot. Friendly staff. Some shelves required restocking.

Rude cashiers complaining why people are coming close to closing time right in-front of me and told her have a good night she threw my receipt and turned and left. Not one word said to me.

It's ok for Food Basics. My only complaint is that they run out of their specials a couple of days before the sale is over. Grrr...

If I could give zero I would. I've shopped at this store many many times. I've never had a negative experience. I went today and for whatever reason my husband's debit card kept saying "read error" although we had just used it at another store. The guy that was checking out my order was nice and considerate, I can say...but he went and found another worker.. I have no idea who he was.. maybe a manager. He had short, almost shaved hair. This guy was SO rude. He was like well I guess just keep doing it until your card locks. I said what's that supposed to mean? he said it means you'll have to go to the bank and get a new one. He had such a condescending tone. Said he "didn't know what to tell me" their machines are "fine " I left to go to the car to get my husband to call the bank..on their end the card was fine. So I went back in...it said the same thing again. So the only nice worker called a female worker over and she waves her hand at me and says well you're just going to have to get it to work because we Have NO machine available for you. Then she proceeded to complain about how much she hates Saturdays. How is that my problem? YOU picked YOUR job.I was disgusted with the customer service. The poor guy who was checking out my order was the only considerate, kind person. Seems like the ones who have higher up experience in there need to learn a thing or 2 from the new staff. Learn some customer service, disgusting behaviours.

Check put guy, Danny at this location, very slow, can tell he hates his job.Second time coming here, and for the sec0nd time out of 2 liter chocolate milk, how can you have a sale item not remain in stock, perhaps you should order more, when it is on sale, not that $4 for a 2l is a good deal. In fact, it's a horrible deal.Update* here at this food basics again, no chocolate milk on the shelf, I asked the employee if there was any available, I was told they were at the bottom of a pile of milk crates, said be about 15 mins, to get them. Another poor example of customer service. Would definitely not recommend this food basics.

Good quality grocery store. Some of the brands you found in freshco cannot found at food basics. Overall good experience.

Good store for purchasing groceries and produces. Prices not that cheap but for some produces and groceries have less price. They do have availability of Asian and Indian Snacks at the store. Very less stafding , sometimes you may need to wait for 5 to 10 mins for staffing assistance

Misleading advertising practices - I went into the store mainly to purchase the flyer special and none of the specials were stocked on the floor. Meanwhile the item is sitting in the back stockroom while the teenage staff hang out having a social gathering. I had to stick my head in the back room to find someone and they didn't know the price or anything about it. After 20 mins of them digging out the item, I finish my business at the front of the store. One of the teenage staff came back to the front and approached me to tell me I can't buy that many cases of water. It was 12 cases of water and not an unreasonable amount. I was with my wife so it was 6 each between the two of us. The supervisor at the front said it was fine after I told her what happened. Then an incompetent lady came out of nowhere with the 3 teen workers like a mob to tell me I could only buy 6. Three young male employees stood around her like it was a highschool hallway showdown. I told them to get lost and they started giving me attitude. How about you get back to work and let the manager deal with it? The quantity limit is NOT stated in flyer or in the store anywhere. I had every right to voice my concerns and don't need a crowd standing around me. None of the supervisors on duty were competent enough to deal with the problem. If you put limits on your items you should state it in the flyer or post it in the store or let the customer be. Nowhere on the flyer is there fine print stating quantity limits. It's a deceptive marketing practice. People attend your store with expectations to buy flyer items and you don't even have them stocked on the floor then harass customers who want to buy reasonable quantities. I did them a favour to let them know the item was not on the floor then they come after me for purchasing the product after waiting 30 mins for them to stock it. What a joke!
