Pros:
1. Lots of free parking in an easily accessible plaza
2. Friendly and helpful staff
3. Clean and well organized
4. Seniors discount once per month
5. Free bag of Hills dry cat food after you purchase a certain amount
Cons:
1. Quite expensive
2. Not too many sales like other retailers
3. Small assortment of cat food compared to another pet food store that doesn't have a location in Brockville
4. No real loyalty program
I used to go to Pet Value which is nearby and apparently owned by the same company. However, only Paulmac's offers the free bag of Hills cat food so I switched. Other, they are pretty much the same.

Two very negative experiences with the staff at this location.We went to buy fish after our guy passed in a FULLY CYCLED and TESTED tank. We offered to bring in the result but were accused of adding too many too quickly even though we are quite experienced and only stopped there to see if they had differing Molly varieties than our experienced aquarium store with generally more knowledge than the staff here. The woman was condescending and refused to sell us fish. We returned to our usual fish store where they don’t make prejudice choices and was a-okd. She didn’t even let us finish telling her what had happened. It was a filter break and we cycled again before we went to add fish. ?Second experience was today with a woman staff member as well. Around 9 - 10 am. We brought our dog in and she condescendingly told us to not bring him to the store and continued to speak to us like we were four about the cats and how “some customers say they have cats and dogs and don’t listen”. It’s fine to ask a dog to stay on one side of the store, it’s not fine to say it to your customers like they are criminals. :) perhaps a sign on the front of the store to inform customers of this policy so they don’t bring their dogs in when you have cats in? Might make it a more ethical and kind experience for the cats…and your shoppers.1/10 we’d rather drive the 2 minutes and support the pet valu. Or the opposite direction. If anyone needs an AMAZING pet valu try out morrisburg or tropical pets. Much more knowledgeable and experienced with pet care, and humans.

This is my go to pet store. I especially like the DIY dog wash. Everything I need is there, selection of shampoos, towels, great water pressure and they give treats with every dog wash. Friendly and helpful staff.

I've been in this store many times, however I will not be going back as I was very uncomfortable when a worker was following me and and pretending to read fish food labels. I am a mom of a toddler son who likes to be carried at times so it's easier for me to use a backpack for his stuff and mine then a purse. I'm guessing I was followed because I had a backpack on but I am a 32 year old mother with a 2.5 year old that was with me. I did not deserve that uncomfortable feeling as I have never stolen in my life!
