ATMs at scotiabank are garbage!! Many times refused bills that just withdraw from same at!! And it’s not only at one location! Will move to other bank! :(((

Melinda “the account whisperer” (internal joke about her name and a show called “the ghost whisperer”) is an incredible rep for Scotiabank, I drove all the way here, to be able to pay my credit card, since I had an awful experience at the Taunton/Baldwin branch with one of their Reps. And Melinda heard my situation, she helped me with my transactions & we joked about her being the account whisperer, and because of her and the Team of Scotiabank who heard my full on complaint about the other branch, through Simon the rep who took in my complaint. Scotiabank is no longer in the blacklist and back into neutral territory.
What I will say tho, my experience with one individual does not define my relationship with Scotiabank, will I recommend it to the newcomers that I work with on a daily basis, I will let them decide, I’ll give them the options of the best banks 🏦 and my experiences with them… Scotia ♥️ has rejoined The Green King 🏦💚 at the list of recommended financial institutions 🏦 for when people ask me about my experiences with financial institutions in 🇨🇦

I call Scotiabank The Latin Bank 🏦 of Canada 🇨🇦 and… it may or may not be good for some people, it’ll all depend on the type of business they want to do with the 🏦

I would like to express a complaint against the Brooklin, Ontario Branch Scotiabank.On December 14, 2023 I attended the Brooklin Branch with a cheque in hand. I waited in line for a total of 15 minutes. The branch was not exceptionally busy however the tellers on duty had spent a lot of time with the clients they were serving.Upon arriving at the teller I advised that I had a cheque to deposit and was advised that the scanner was not working. I asked if a different teller would be able to assist and was informed no, the scanner was not working.It would have been nice if customers were informed prior to waiting in line before being advised that they could not be serviced.I attended the branch again the following day December 15th. I waited and approached the next available teller.The cheque I had in hand was a cheque I received from the Government of Ontario which was a death benefit made out to the estate of my deceased mother.The teller viewed the cheque and stated she could not assist me. I asked her how I would get access to the check as I have a Certificate of Appointment to the Estate. She advised she did not know.The teller offered no advice, support nor direction and was quite frankly rude and unhelpful.Today I called Scotiabank’s customer service line and was connected by a representative named “Giselle”. Giselle provided the proper information and set up an appointment with another branch, as I refuse to ever return to my home branch in Brooklin.I will meet with a Senior Advisor tomorrow who will guide me through the proper steps.I have been a Scotiabank client for over 30 years, and hence went to my home branch only to be met with incompetence and a startling lack of knowledge.I felt compelled to bring this matter to your attention.

This isn’t about this location specifically. I’m sick and tired of rude people on the phone. I understand that people get tired and fed up of their jobs but the rudeness is completely unnecessary. I was redirected multiple times-which I didn’t mind. I’m just mentioning that for future reference. Everyone was kind except for the last person I spoke to. Some rep named “Valen”. Not only was she rushing the conversation but she cut me off multiple times and had an inexcusably rude and irritated tone. She was obnoxious right out of the gate. I was polite to all 5 people I was redirected to, including her. Some patrons would’ve been angry for being sent to 5 different people. I wasn’t, and she was still ill-mannered. I even asked her if she was okay, to which she condescendingly said “yep.” and when I still politely thanked her for her help she hung up abruptly. My problem wasn’t even actually solved. I tried to fix my issue after she hung up. My problem is still not fixed.

This was 6 years ago. My mother had passed away, and I had to come up with some funeral expenses. I was waiting for a bank draft to clear as they were having difficulty processing it. First, they insinuated that the bank draft might be fraudulent which upset me. Secondly, because they couldn’t correct the issue with the bank draft I had to withdraw money from my account and go into an overdraft. Instead of keeping in mind, the fact that I was trying to manage my mothers funeral expenses they gave me a lecture about how I should not be in overdraft. I was very upset and decided I would not bank at this branch again. I had escalated this and was told that the particular employees I dealt with were spoken to. I hope they received some sensitivity training.

This Branch never gets back to people. We went into the branch over the long weekend and were told we would have Sabrina get back to us regarding time sensitive documents. We still do NOT have a response from Sabrina. This branch has not been helpful with our situation after being a customer for over 20 years. I would not trust anything important to this branch.

Had an appointment today at 11, I dnt get any email confirmation or reminder call. When I went to the bank , bank is closed with out any notice. On website it shows open.
