My first stop in Canada. The dockmaster was great, both friendly and helpful. I shared a long slip with a sailboat that he knew wasn't moving for a few days.
But it was obvious that my shore power cord wouldn't reach the receptacle. So the dockmaster offered the use of an extension.
I didn't need the extension because there are two hotels adjacent to the marina and I was ready to get off my 28' outboard boat and take a 'rest day' from boating.
The floating docks are a bit weathered, but they work fine and my flat fenders were all I needed.
If you are staying on your boat, it could be a bit of a walk to the restrooms and showers.
But there is a very good restaurant just past the restrooms.

For such a small town (population around 600), Bruce Mines has a lot of fun places to see. If you are looking for a picnic spot, the Marina has a lovely area with picnic tables, as well as a playground. I stopped here with my family for lunch before exploring the town to stretch our legs, as we were on a road trip. If you need groceries, there's a Freshmart nearby.

I like small marinas because they are always calm and soothing. Fresh air and beautiful countryside for a walk.

Canada's Group of Seven artists were inspired by the landscapes of Algoma and North Shore of Lake Superior. Bruce Mines is where Tom Thomson painted and at this Marina you can experience what he saw, what he experienced and painted and the feelings he captured on Canvas. It is indeed a beautiful place that is overlooked by visitors if they are not aware of the Group of Seven. There are many other interpretive installations along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Be sure to download the app MomentsofAlgoma if you plan to visit.

Great spot right off the TCH 17. Take in Group of Seven views. Good spot to stretch the legs, walk the dog, enjoy a picnic or just sit and stare out at the vastness of the North Channel.
