Went to sell a few things my daughter had grown out of. Very unwelcoming atmosphere by *everyone* behind the counter. (At least 5-6 people were behind the desk.)
As I was waiting for their verdict, I shopped around with my daughter. Heard them laughing behind the counter at the quality of a toy I had brought it.
Felt very high school. Very mean girl. Very cliquey.
Will never come back to this specific location. I've shopped at many OUAC stores across Canada, and have never experienced this kind of behavior or level of disorganization. (No one seemed to know what to do when it came time to tell me how much they were offering me.)
The clothes were also dirty, and the store itself felt very chaotic.

This store is incredibly chaotic. I had my compact stroller with me and could barely fit down the isles. If someone was already browsing an isle, we had to turn around as there was no way to pass them. There were toys, shoes and hangers all over the floors that the stroller wheels kept getting stuck on. Total tripping hazard. Someone in a wheelchair or scooter would have a tough time navigating the tight spaces.
This is my third visit to the store. I kept returning hoping it would get better (maybe they were having a bad week… or month) but it has been the same anxiety provoking experience each time. I’ve been going midday during the week - I cannot imagine what it’s like on a weekend.
On a positive note, the ladies working at the counter were pleasant and kind.

Prices are fair and good selection. Neatly organized by colour and size.
If you take your time and look through you will definitely find some hidden gems.

This is hands down the best Once Upon a Child location in the area. The Guelph store is closest to me but I regularly drive an extra 20+ minutes to come to the Cambridge location because it’s SO much better. It’s more organized, the selection is massive, they have better prices, they buy more, offer better payouts & run better sales/promotions. Staff have always been friendly, helpful and welcoming every time I’ve been in. Shout out to Mel for quickly resolving an issue I had with loyalty points today over Instagram DMs - she promptly added my missing points plus 1 extra for “the hassle” :) highly highly recommend this location!

The quality at the Cambridge store has noticeably declined over the past few years. I recently purchased a "Fairy Tale Storybook" that turned out to be intended for adults (18+), but we only discovered this after my 10-year-old granddaughter had read it. Additionally, much of the clothing is stained or has holes, and the strollers for sale are visibly damaged with rips and stains but still listed for $150-$250. The racks are so tightly packed that it's difficult to browse through the items, suggesting that the focus is more on quantity than quality. When I brought up the poor quality of some of their items, I was told I should have brought them to the counter. No—it's their responsibility to ensure the items they accept meet a certain standard. They should be doing their job, not relying on customers to point out subpar goods.
Their recent 50% off sale was also misleading as many of their promotions are. It was advertised "All Priced New Items," but once inside, it became clear that not all items were included. The prices in Cambridge are noticeably higher than other thrift or consignment stores, including the Kitchener Once Upon a Child. For example, while damaged winter jackets in Cambridge were priced at $30 and $40, I purchased a brand new, tag-on Oshkosh winter jacket in Kitchener for only $17. Items in Kitchener seem to be priced more reasonably based on their condition, rather than simply by brand or season. I found a boys' Nike jacket for $40 in Cambridge, while a girls' Nike jacket in Kitchener was just $12.
In my limited interactions with the Cambridge manager/owner, I've found her to be abrasive and uninterested in addressing customer concerns. She appeared more focused on closing the sale than ensuring a positive shopping experience.
What truly highlights the decline in Cambridge is the contrast with the consistently excellent service and quality I've experienced in Kitchener. It's only after shopping there that I realized how much the Cambridge store has deteriorated.
Sadly, we won't be returning.

Customer service from one of there employees has completed turned me away from this location. I typically find their customer service pleasant and welcoming. Not sure if she was having a bad day. I found her very aggressive and short in her tone. For someone working in a children’s story should be a little nicer and softer when speaking to customers. Will not go back to the Cambridge location.

I go to this location often, it has great deals and I’ve noticed compared to the Kitchener location they do buy more of your items which is nice. The staff are friendly and willing to make things right if a situation happens. We bought a pair of baby pjs and noticed once we got home and washed them they had holes in the feet we took them back and they were very understanding and let us pick a new pair. Will continue to go here

I brought a large bag of clothes in and was turned away and told I had to re wash everything! It was already washed obviously, I put it in the bag right from the dresser drawer…..since when does everything need to be freshly washed?? I’m really annoyed!

I frequent this location and am overall happy with my experience! I've gotten lots of cute clothes from here and an satisfied with their pricing. (I've seen the same items at the other children's consignment shop in town for double the price) the $5 for $10 sleeper deal is really great. Ive been to other locations who dont offer it! only thing I will mention is it isn't the easiest browsing experience. Lots of overcrowded racks and the low racks were really hard to get to while I was pregnant! The shoe bins are a little stressful and disorganized, and it's really tight so navigating with a stroller is tricky at times! But atleast that means there's lots of great options! Overall really happy with the clothing ive purchased and sold here.

I am so thankful that we have a store like this, it is truly so helpful. The deals are amazing and the clothing and shoes are great! Reading some of the reviews regarding staff was sad to see because the staff are so friendly. Always a joy when coming to this location. Thank you to all the ladies for all the hard work you do!
