I had so many doubts about coming to Valiant. I had just spent a year in a mental health hospital and was completely lost. I had many doubts that they would not be able to help me. But I had to give it a try. After completing 3 months, I can say that this program saved my life. Ashley is amazing. She goes above and beyond. She always took the time to hear me out and provided me with logical reasonable responses that helped me work through my issues. Never did she make me feel like my feelings were unvalidated. Without Ashleys support I don't know where I'd be today. As well the other staff were also amazing. I have high anxiety and do not do well with new environments but the environment provided at valiant made me feel comfortable and at "home". I found the material provided for group sessions were very helpful and still keep the material handy for when I need to focus on a certain topic at home. It wasn't easy but if you take in what they're teaching and follow through with the material it's very beneficial. Thank you Ashley and Valiant as whole for everything. It was a complete life changer. I will forever be grateful.

I had a loved one enter Valiant Behavioural health a few months back. Staff was always efficient and communicated well with me and my relatives. Ashley provided the best care and it was exactly what my brother needed. I highly recommend this treatment centre

This place was and is a special part of my journey. The things I learned about myself through there way of teaching was a big part of why I am in the good position I am in now days and it keeps getting better. I learned at VBH ottawa that life is gonna have its ups and downs but the choice is yours on how traumatic they are. My life is not a rollercoaster anymore so there is no peaks and valleys just smooth waves and I ride with them not against them. VBH helped me become honest accountable and reliable. Thank you guys for my 90 days there your real ones.

My daughter went to rehab at Valiant Behavioral Health in Ottawa. Prior to attending this treatment center, we were told to take a look at what the program will offer.According to their website, The program offers:- 8 sessions of 1 on 1 private counselling per monthUnfortunately, they did not fulfill this even after advertising it as part of the program on their website. My daughter only received 2 private sessions in her 4 weeks there. She was supposed to receive at least 8 sessions. The main benefits of an in-patient program would be the one-on-one therapy for complex trauma and my daughter received hardly any therapy at all.In general, this facility is poorly run with a lot of undertrained staff. There was no trained psychiatrist, psychologist or psychotherapist. There was only one certified social worker who manages the entire facility, and she was not there a lot of the time. The clients spend a lot of time completing workbooks by themselves without an instructor there to guide them, provide advice, and answer questions. The staff at the facility would say that they could not offer advice or answer questions because they weren’t qualified. But these were the people working all the time. The only person qualified was not often at the facility.Furthermore, there is a significant level of unprofessionalism among the staff at valiant behavioral health. During an outing, one of the staff was taking pictures with the clients, and posted the pictures on her Facebook with the clients names tagged on the post. Before going here, and paying $15,000 I would look into other options at other facilities. Valiant behavioral health did not provide the help they promised or the therapy needed to overcome and combat drug addiction.I have heard amazing reviews from Homewood in Guelph, the intensive therapy needed to heal is provided and followed through on.

The program keeps you busy enough that the time passes by fast. They are very helpful with mental heatlh issues. They bring you to public pools once a week which is awsome. The food was good. I've been out for a month and I haven't went back to nicotine or cannabis. You learn how to live life sober again with daily work including prayer group, 12 step program and much more ?

Royce (owner) is technically a con-man in my eyes.I phoned him personally when I was at my lowest point in life, (after escaping tight religious ties and coming back to a family who did not understand).I explained my whole situation on the phone with him and we seemed to be of the same understanding.Within less than a week I took the train out. I found out only upon arrival that this man who I spoke to on the phone was not there, but on vacation, and that he hadn’t passed anything on to the other staff about who I was.The staff and Royce included (everything is on cameras there, with audio) would use small misunderstandings against me and try to tell my family over the phone that I was doing so terribly there- yet I highly doubt all the footage would prove that.Secondly, right upon arrival my phone had died. It is a mandatory part of the program to hand over your phones, computers… at least for the first while (about two weeks). The only thing was, I was just looking to phone my family and let them know I had arrived and just wanted to say bye (they also require that you make no phone calls for the first two weeks). They put up such a fight about it- it felt as if I was entering into some sort of a cult. There are a lot of odd things about the place too, like the outside staircase that is literally held up by four screws (me and the other inpatients raised many concerns about this).I understand that it is a rehab program but I do have just a very odd feeling about the ownership. Also, how quick they are to blame and threaten even people who have paid good money to be there.I did not go there to quit any substances. I went because of a very horrible and prolonged religious experience (what you’d call a cult for short) that I was trying to get help with. The first thing that they threw in my face was a Bible. Something that they didn’t even have mentioned on their website (that they’re a place for Believers). There is a staff there who kept on insisting that me ending up in a religious cult at the young age that I did WAS MY OWN FAULT.Comparably better to this would be to rent yourself an AirBnB for a month. Pack your fridge and buy some CBT/DBT workbooks. That was really the best thing offered there. Also, hire yourself a counsellor, or psychotherapist. If you’re a substance user or even an alcoholic for that matter, all that they’ve got for that is AA once a week which you could just go do at your local community centre for free as it is.The owners own multiple facilities and surely this one’s gotta be their last priority.I left that place with a lot more hurt because they didn’t really want to treat us with dignity, and the ownership and staff just put even more wedged between me and my family. I even asked the owner to personally phone my family to tell them where I was really at and that I needed their support afterwards and he just would not have it.On top of it, I asked him if he knew Edward Dawson, the leader of the cult that I was a victim of and he just laughed at me.*Don’t get excited about the gym there either because all of the equipment is broken.

My adult child attended Valiant for 5 weeks. I was very scared that they would turn him away like he has been for the last 2.5 years by the medical system. This place is the real deal. They really care about the people and walk the extra mile to care and help their clients. I am so grateful, and will always be for the love and care that they put on my child. Even with very difficult situations, they stood by his side and never gave up on him. How many places like that exist? They are an incredible place. I am very thankful to all the staff for their loving care. Always available to talk, communicating with loved ones, positive, hard workers and caring. I give them 100 stars and an eternal thank you for being there for my son.

After a lifetime of mental health issues, I am finally getting to start my life thanks to the staff at Valiant. They all care about client recovery and make you feel at home. They give you the tools to head back out into the world to a new and fulfilling life if you're willing to use them. I met some wonderful people and will always be grateful for the care and support provided by the girls there, especially Ashley and Lydia. Earlier reviews mentioned the religious aspect. I am not of that belief but the staff were respectful of my beliefs and never pushed. Thanks again Valiant.

Staff at Valiant will forever have my and my family's gratitude for saving my life. This facility offers a holistic healing approach that treats each individual client with love, support and education tailored to meet their specific needs. Daily group sessions as well as one on one counseling facilitates a targeted approach to identify individual risk factors and the most therapeutic approach to ensure healing while in the program as well as longevity once your time together is through. Staff consistently show genuine caring and investment, continuously going above and beyond to help each client create and surpass their goals. A special thank you to Ashley, Lydia and LG who treated me with patience, compassion and understanding. When you walk through those doors you are treated as family and not a number. Additional to treatment while in the program, they work tirelessly to assist you on developing an airtight exit plan to ensure that you are prepared to spend the rest of your life happy, healthy and successful in all of your endeavors. Thank you thank you thank you for a second lease on life.

Having personally stayed at Valiant Behavioural Health, I can honestly say my experience was exceptional and truly life changing. The home like atmosphere makes it’s such a more comfortable environment to recover and open up in. The staff treat you with such care and compassion- not like just another client in a rehab centre but a valuable, capable human. Going there changed my life and without VBH, the wonderful staff, the in depth sessions, and ESPECIALLY Mika.... I would have never felt the hope and optimism I have now for my life. If you are willing to show up, and put the work in to recover; then they will go to the ends of the world to help you and your recovery putting in just as much work as you have. Everything you learn there and take with you is well worth it. I can’t thank VBH and all the staff enough. Truly thankful.
