This was our 3rd CottageStays vacation. We loved our cottage this time (as expected) and look forward to the next. Our cottage was great, the sunsets were breathtaking and space and amenities were perfect. Thanks again!!

This September was our 2nd stay at Lakeside Luxury for a girls weekend and we had another fabulous time. The cottage is laid out beautifully. Lots of living and sleeping space and lots of nice extras. The kitchen is well appointed and the addition of music (a turntable with a great selection of vinyl plus a music system with a preloaded playlist ) was a welcome addition. Highly recommend this location. Host is quick to respond if you have any questions. We will be back again next year.

Four of us ladies (friends for over 40 years!) had a wonderful September week at HideAway . The amenities include an outdoor sauna and shower, beautiful lake views from all windows in the living area and a lovely clean beach area.The kitchen is well equipped with comfortable seating areas for a group .
Highly recommend this property and the Cottage Stays staff!

We had a fantastic stay in Bayfield through CottageStays. Jennifer and Shauna were amazing to work with — they kept us fully informed and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. This was our third time booking with CottageStays, and we’ve been very happy every time. Excellent service and highly recommended!

This was our 3rd year booking with Cottage Stays. The team is so organized, informative and readily available to answer any inquiries. We loved Luxury Log Retreat! Great location, pet friendly, very spacious and the kids loved the ping pong and pool table. It truly had everything we needed to make lasting memories. We'll be back next year too!

The Tranquil Waterside Oasis Cottage offered a beautiful lakeside view and a spacious yard perfect for outdoor activities like volleyball. The heated hardwood floors were a nice touch, although most of us wore socks indoors. The cottage size was adequate. However, several significant issues led to a disappointing experience. The hot tub was disgustingly dirty upon arrival, with brown water and hair strands floating inside, and its water level was insufficient. Additionally, the towel rack fell off because it was poorly installed directly into drywall. The host, Jennifer, promised various amenities that were never delivered, and communication with her was frustratingly slow throughout our booking and stay.
Despite all these inconveniences, perhaps the most frustrating part of it all was the lack of/poor communication with our host, Jennifer. From the booking process to the end of our stay, it would take hours to receive a reply from our host. This made the entire experience more stressful than it needed to be.
What was more upsetting and disheartening was the lack of compassion and understanding from a gentlemen who showed up as we were getting ready to vacate the premises. Unfortunately, as we were tidying up and getting ready to leave, we noticed one of the vehicles had a flat tire. This was an unforeseen complication, but we were doing our best to solve it in a timely manner as we also did not want to be delayed on our journey home. He approached us quite aggressively and very rudely told us to "get out" - despite it being clearly obvious that we were trying to deal with the flat tire and finishing a final clean up. We tried to explain that we would be leaving as soon as we are able to (which would require us to fix the tire), and he rudely remarked that it didn't matter and that it doesn't take that long to fix a tire.
After such an unpleasant stay, our host Jennifer informed us that she will be keeping the $500 security deposit for the following reasons: (1) hot tub not being cleaned (despite it being filthy upon our arrival), (2) towel rack damage (however, the inspector informed us that this was a common issue at the property), and (3) for additional cleaning charges she incurred (when we requested details/an invoice, she declined to provide us with that information). After much back and forth, she begrudgingly offered us only $100 of the $500.
Overall, the property and view was good and we had high hopes on our arrival. However, our unpleasant experience with our host and the other gentlemen, the numerous issues and unfounded accusations/blame completely soured our experience and made it overall unpleasant. I cannot in good faith recommend this to anyone who is interested in having an enjoyable and stress-free experience.

I am generally not someone who leaves poor reviews especially for independent businesses, however our planned stay at the cottage was left with much disappointment.
We started off excited and ready to enjoy our stay at the wonderful cottage but we’re left with an unprofessional manager and an unprofessional inspector.
Besides the many inconveniences such as taking our own trash off the property and providing ourselves with our own bedding we did our best to treat the property with the respect any property deserves and cleaned up during as well as on our way out the door for our stay.
Unfortunately we were blamed for a poorly maintained hot tub, poorly installed towel fixtures, and an absurd cleaning fee that did not add up. When approached about the situation asking for details into why the fee was so high and to elaborate, an answer could not be provided nor a bill that details it’s reasonings. We were ignored, robbed, and ultimately disrespected.
We unfortunately have yet to hear back with an answer that is consistent, instead we are told different reasonings and different stories to justify this blatant robbery.
I believe this will unfortunately be our first and last time booking with them.

The cottage itself was nice and we had fun while we were there, however the interaction at the end of our stay with the owners/inspectors were unpleasant and ruined our mood after we left the cottage.
We experienced a flat tire before getting ready to checkout and leave the cottage. Due to this, we were delayed in checking out at 11AM. It took us some time to figure out how to deal with the flat tire but we made sure to communicate to the host about our situation. As we were getting ready to leave, the cottage owner showed up and was quite rude and disrespectful to us. Twice he said to "get the hell out of here" even though we were all outside and about to leave.
In terms of our security deposit the cottage owner was unwilling to give it back as she stated that the main reason being that the cleaning fee was more than double the usual amount. When asked for more details as to why the cleaning cost was more she was unable to provide sufficient answers other than they had apparently spent 20 hours cleaning the cottage. She was unwilling to get more details from the cleaning company as to why the cost was so high and why they were there for so long, instead she hung up the phone. We had followed the cleaning instructions prior to checkout and nothing at the cottage would be considered beyond normal use.
Overall, the cottage itself was good but our experiences with the management there were not.

We really enjoyed our time at Lazy Days - modern 3 bedroom, 2 bath with great views of Lake Huron. Its pet friendly and our English Springer Spaniel came and enjoyed his vacation as well.. We had nice weather only a sprinkle 2 x for a little bit.. Every night Charlie [our dog] went out to the end of the yard and took sunset photos.
We highly recommend Lazy Days and of course CottageStays rentals...

Our stay at the Tranquil Waterside Oasis was very disappointing. The property manager blamed us for breaking the towel racks in both bathrooms, but they were already poorly installed. This has clearly happened before.
She also said the cleaning company charged a lot more than usual and took 20 hours to clean, which seems impossible. When we asked for proof, she avoided our questions and never showed any evidence.
Additionally, she claimed the hot tub's water level was lower than normal. However, we have pictures proving it was already low when we arrived. The hot tub was also not well-maintained when we arrived.
To make things worse, the owner arrived as we were leaving and was very rude. We had a flat tire, which delayed us a bit, but he insisted we leave immediately, making a stressful situation even worse.
Overall, this was not what we signed up for. The unfair blame, unprofessional behavior, and lack of transparency have left us very disappointed. We're still waiting for our security deposit back, which we feel is being unfairly kept. We can't recommend this place for a stress-free stay.

**Review of Tranquil Waterside Oasis:**
I regret to say that our stay at Tranquil Waterside Oasis was far from the relaxing getaway we had hoped for. The cottage was not up to standard, with several poorly installed fixtures that broke easily, making us feel as if we were being set up for failure just to incur additional charges.
To make matters worse, the hot tub was filthy and had low water levels upon our arrival. The host later claimed that we were responsible for leaving the water level low, which was simply not true.
Additionally, the host claimed that our cleaning fee was higher than usual because we left the cottage dirty. This accusation is completely unfounded, as we spent hours cleaning the place before checkout to ensure it was in good condition. When we requested proof of the cleaning fee and asked for specifics on why it was supposedly dirty, the host ignored our questions entirely.
This is not what we signed up for, and I cannot recommend anyone to stay at Tranquil Waterside Oasis unless they are prepared to deal with hidden fees and unresponsive hosts. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reliable and transparent place to stay.

Our recent experience at the cottage left much to be desired due to a series of disappointing occurrences:
We were wrongly accused of breaking the towel racks, which were clearly not properly installed to begin with. This unwarranted blame overshadowed our stay and left a negative impression.
The hot tub had low water levels and was poorly maintained, yet we were blamed for leaving it that way. It was disheartening to be held accountable for an issue that should have been addressed by the property's management.
In addition, despite certain items being listed as provided, we were unexpectedly required to purchase these items ourselves. This unexpected additional cost was inconvenient and frustrating.
Communication with the management was a major issue throughout our stay. We found it nearly impossible to reach the manager by phone, and instead had to resort to texting, which often resulted in hours of waiting for a response. This lack of effective communication added unnecessary stress to our trip.
On the final day of our stay, the inspector arrived in a manner that was extremely disrespectful, despite being informed of our flat tire situation and the fact that we were in the process of vacating the property. This lack of understanding and professionalism was a disappointing end to our already troubled stay.
Overall, our experience at the cottage was marred by poor communication, maintenance issues, unfounded accusations, and disrespectful behavior, leading to a less than satisfactory stay.

The Hideaway in Bayfield is a beautiful little getaway. The location is private, overseeing the water (an amazing view) and surrounded by trees. Communication and booking is super easy and we are always pleased with how clean the dog friendly cottage is. Our family enjoys coming up every spring and looking forward to returning next year!
