North Beach Provincial Park is a beautiful day-use park offering long sandy beaches along Lake Ontario and North Bay. Located in Prince Edward County, a short drive from its more famous neighbour, Sandbanks, it's a popular spot for beach-goers and often hits capacity throughout the summer. Due to its popularity, it is highly recommended to book your day use permit in advance to guarantee entry. On busy days, weekends, and when Online Daily Vehicle Permits are fully reserved, park staff will provide capacity updates on Twitter. North Beach is only open for the summer season (mid-June – early October). The beaches are generally clean, though some visitors have reported issues with water quality and cleanliness of the washrooms on occasion. Parking is easy and accessible, but beware of the seaweed that can attach to you and your hair after a swim. Overall, North Beach Provincial Park offers a beautiful, calm setting for a day at the beach, with 2,000 meters of sandy shoreline to enjoy. While it can get crowded, especially on weekends, it remains a popular destination for both locals and visitors to the area.
We purchased permit on spot as we arrived at 10 am. Day Use Permit costs $21 with taxes. Anyone visiting at a later time should book their permits ahead of time. It was a calm beach with beautiful waves.
