This is the worst gas station I’ve ever been. This evening, 05 Dec 2024 which was snowing bad I was going home which is more than one hour drive from Cookstown, I had a terrible experience here. I was filling up the tank suddenly power outage happened in the station. Lady, came out and checked the pump to see how much gas I filled. I went inside to pay she said you need to pay cash because of power outage. I said I dont have cash but I can call my wife to transfer money to you right away but she said we can not accept e-transfer .I said I have to be on highway before it is getting worse, I can go outside to get cash or find ATM to get the cash but she said you can not leave untill you pay. I said. I leave my car here but she didnt accept. She actually locked me inside , she was saying that's your problem you must have cash. Someone came to station then came to door to ask about the gas, I asked him behind the door if he can give me cash ,he was ok to give me cash but this lady didnt open the door. She was saying since there is no electricity she can not open the door. I was about to call the Police because I had a feeling she got me hostage just for $39.62. I found out she is Manager's wife. She called her husband and after 30 min . he arrived, the she opened the back door for him , but as I mentioned earlier she was saying there is no other door and we locked in here. Manager gave me his email and my wife transfer money to him then he opened the door and I left.I’ll be letting all of my friends and coworker at Baxter know how terrible this station is in term of customer service and tell them to bring their business elsewhere. When I was telling her that I am going to write a bad review for you or when I said I am going to call Police, she always said I dont care. For sure this was the last time I went there. Two km further is Petro Canada gas station recommend you go there as well.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this gas station. I witnessed an appalling display of rudeness from the employee, who I later learned is the wife of the manager. She berated a young customer in front of me and other patrons, showing no respect or understanding as he struggled to get his card to work. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially from someone representing the business. I will not be returning and will be advising others to avoid this place as well.
November 23 2024. Again I witnessed this woman harassing a customer yelling and swearing at him. I kept my receipt and will be putting a formal complaint in. The terrible customer service of this place is unreal

Shell has one of the worst ev charging apps as I have never been able to get it to work. Each of the 30 times I made the same mistake of thinking it would work next time caused me untold anxiety. When I called Shell’s number on the charge tower they said I was calling from a California telephone number and the name and credit card information were someone else’s and they were going go charge that account. When I told them it wasn’t my telephone number nor my name, nor my credit card number they had no idea what to do. I told them I would report Shell to the RCMP for violating security protocols by telling me the name and credit card number of someone I didn’t know. Even when Shell reluctantly started charger remotely it errored out and shut down. After waiting on hold for another 20 minutes Shell came back on the phone after I drove to an IVY charger nearby. I would now rather stick needles in my eyeballs than use Shell ev charging again. Don’t waste your life on it when Shell clearly doesn’t care.

No sign that says the prepay . when i asked the rude european lady sitting at the counter she got angry . very bad lady and extremely bad attitude. not coming here again.

Nice gas station nearby. All cars have to follow only in one direction as the store is small. Self Service.

This is the worst gas station I’ve ever been to service wise they close early somedays and just lay pylons out. I’ve been told tanks are empty there while others are pumping gas still. I just sat at the pump for close to 5 minutes waiting to pump just to finally be told to come inside and pre pay, once I got inside the guy was arguing with a customer saying he’s not following the instructions. Even if he wasn’t that’s your job to help not be rude, if you don’t like your job find a new one. I’ll be letting all of my friends and family know and tell them to bring their business elsewhere. For somewhere you spend hundreds of dollars on gas you’d think they’d make it easier for you not argue with customers. Definitely the last time I’ll be going there.

I usually buy coffee for $1 and have the ability to use the bathroom anywhere in Canada. At this station, you spend hundreds of dollars and ask for the bathroom, only to be told it's out of service. I'm traveling now and struggling; what should I do? Sould I do it right in front of the door. 6:50pm Friday 28 June 2024

I have gone to this gas station for years. Older gentleman very nice and personable. EVERYONE else quite rude - but oh well. Perhaps a generational thing? A cultural thing? A gender thing? Whatever, my skin is typically thicker than most. I always say please, thank you, have a nice day/evening/weekend . . . However, I just returned home after a particularly offensive interaction. There was no need for the rudeness and assumption that I (the customer) did something incorrectly. I’m sorry to say but I will be frequenting another station from now on.
