My family have been customers of Alpin’s since its opening in the 1950s. My grandfather owned a building a few doors down from this establishment, therefore, we keep/kept frequenting until Monday that is. I bought a set of sheets there ($106.00) in May. It’s now August and there is a large tear in the flat sheet. The woman at the cash was very very rude to me when asked if there was anything she could do. She responded angrily that she had NEVER EVER EVER seen anything like this is 5 years, therefore making it impossible in her mind. This led to her blaming the sleeper who likely was yanking on the sheets, and they weren’t responsible for that. As she mentioned again, that she had NEVER EVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT.She raised her voice as I tried to explain that I was the sleeper and that I had NEVER EVER torn sheets in my life as I slept. This angered her more and she shouted more that there was no way she could approach her supplier with this.Guess I’ll go do the Winners thing instead of shopping local.Wow. What a humiliating and demeaning experience.Maybe I’ll ask to talk to Rene. See what he says.I will think twice about shopping here again even though I prefer to shop local. Not here I won’t.In response to the response: Being shouted at by a shopkeeper is NEVER the way to deal w a customer no matter what. The woman could have been much nicer. She actually didn’t let me finish any of my sentences. It was so rude and unacceptable regardless of producing a receipt or not.Don’t shout at customers. That’s all I’ve got to say about that. So rude.AddendumIn reading the last review, I see that Lynn is rude to other customers too. Big surprise. She is stressed and rude. I guess they don’t mind losing long time loyal customers.I was told by Rene to contact the company ‘Alamode’ to discuss the tear in my 3 months old sheets and they told me that they don’t deal w customers directly.I suppose Alpin’s is trying to pass the buck and not take proper responsibility for products that they sell at 100% mark up, besides that.Sheets are sold online at $50 and they are priced at $106 at Alpin’s.Rude service and low quality products are not what I thought Alpin’s was about. I was wrong. Won’t be going there again except to try again to get my money back. That should go well. Haha.Because the tear isn’t as Lynn would expect the tear to be, she insisted that it is due to the aggressive sleeper. Not the case. I’ve never torn a set of sheets in my life. Whereas, Lynn purports she’s never seen these sheets come back to her that it’s not possible there could have been a flaw. Nope. It’s my fault and have to deal w it.I can prove that I bought these sheets at Alpin’s but that’s not good enough for them. Don’t buy at places who don’t back up their products is my lesson here.Lastly, I wonder why Alpin’s chooses NOT to be members of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce. ??♀️??♀️

Awesome Service! Rene met me at my new home and measured each window. We met back at his store and I was presented with multiple options. Excellent advice, regarding material and open/close mechanism. Great service from initial contact to final sale.
