Beautiful historic home, just a block from the St. Lawrence River and its parks and walking trails. Excellent breakfast.

Our stay at this charming B&B in Cornwall, Ontario, was absolutely delightful! The place is like stepping into a beautifully curated museum, filled with stunning antiques and decorated with such exquisite taste—clearly, the proprietor has an eye for design. I was especially impressed by the soft, luxurious towels in the bathroom and the attention to detail, like real glass glasses (no plastic!) provided for guests.
The cleanliness was impeccable, and the proprietor went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He kindly recommended a great spot for dinner in town and was thoughtful enough to allow us to store our bicycles in his garage, which was a huge plus for us as cyclists.
As someone who is half-Japanese, I really appreciated the house rule of removing shoes indoors—something I do at home and found comforting here. It added to the overall sense of care and attention to detail that made this B&B so special. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and welcoming stay!

What a gem of an accommodation! It's places like this that make neighbourhoods liveable and places worth visiting. Robert should get a medal for totally transforming a neglected landmark into a proud community showpiece and an important part in making Cornwall a tourist destination. A stay at the Chesley's Inn is so much better than staying in a nondescript and totally forgettable hotel.

Had a great time in this cozy inn during a recent stay in Cornwall. The rooms were comfortable, the kitchen spacious (we stayed in the Innkeeper's Quarters), and the shower was wonderful. If you are visiting Cornwall, I would recommend staying here.

This is the first time my husband and I stayed at a B&B and it was a lovely experience. Robert was very accommodating when we arrived at 10:30am since we wanted to enjoy our weekend in Cornwall, and even though he couldn’t have us check-in early, he was very nice in letting us leave our luggage at the Inn so we could explore the city. Chesley’s is an attraction in itself - I’d say our favorite thing about Cornwall, actually - and our stay was lovely. Hamish is a sweetheart of a dog and we spent some time in the garden just… being really, because it is a delightful place. If I could describe it with cultural references, I’d say this Inn comes out of the pages of a Jane Austen novel but make it Gilmore Girls. I wish I had the chance of talking to Robert for a while longer: he seems he’s lived many lives and has lots of stories to tell. Breakfast was really good - coming from Brazil I am very particular about my coffee, but it was deliciously crispy and strong - and the other guests were lots of fun to talk to. We stayed in the Tudor Room - we highly recommend a shower in its bathroom since there is great water pressure - and it was comfortable and grand. Cornwall does have a reputation of being a place you pass by on your way to Montreal - which was actually the reason Chesley’s was built over 200 years ago - but if you have the chance of actually staying in the city, you’ll do yourself a favor if you stay at Chesley’s - it is absolutely worth more than just passing by.

We have now stayed at Auberge Chesley's Inn on two occasions. On each occasion our room was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. The entire home is decorated with items Robert, the owner, has acquired during his travels. The breakfasts were hearty and tasty - sweet the first visit, savory for the second.

My husband and I stayed in the Tudor room. Lovely large comfortable bed with many pillows for added comfort. The inn is beautifully appointed. Everywhere you turn there is an interesting feature or something pleasant to look at. It’s in a fantastic location with easy access to parking. Robert pays attention to all of the little details. He has extensive knowledge of the area and Canadian history. He shared some wonderful stories with us. Thanks for the JCO information :) you thrilled me! Breakfast was lovely he even allowed my son who is studying at St.Lawrence College to join us for breakfast. Breakfast was a lovely quiche, yoghurt, pastries, French press coffee and fresh fruit served on good and proper China. We sat in the beautifully appointed dining room .There is a cute little Scotty dog. He comes over for a sniff, but he generally mind his own business. We really enjoyed our stay here.

A beautiful setting, with plenty of interesting antiques and art. Spotlessly clean, and the room was very comfortable. Free parking at the back. All three breakfasts were delicious and delightful. Situated a small walking distance from the core for shops and restaurants. The Apples and Art Studio Tour in late September was the perfect excuse to visit Cornwall, and a long walk along the river is highly recommended! We will definitely visit again and look forward to staying at the Chesley when we do.
