Dec. 27,2025 Bakery Dept. for 3rd time in the last 10 days I went in at my regular tim of 8:00 a.m. to purchase a baguette. There were none on the shelves so I for the third time asked the new young women cleaning the shelves for a baguette. Unlike her predesessor who was amazing she refused to get me one in the back and told me to come back in about 45 minutes. i explained I always shop at 8:00a.m. THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME IN 10 DAYS I came in for a baguette and could not return later. She turned her back on me and ignored me. This is unacceptable behaivour. TEACH YOUR WORKERS RESPECT.

I like shopping here because there is a variety of international products. But most of the stuff are not very pleasant, the cashiers usually never say “hello” or “have a good day”. Plus I try to return something (around 5 pm on September 12) that I bought at the other Food Basics store on Brookdale, and the cashier say that she can’t, seriously?? I thought since is the same store chain they would accept but no. She didn’t even say sorry I think you have to go where you bought it, nothing. I used to work in customer service and I can tell you that many staff in this store don’t care about giving good customer service whatsoever.

This is in regards to the readheaded lady in a ponytail. That was working today, July 31 around 4:30 PM at self check out. Maybe not hover over me like im gonna steal do you know how embarrassing and humiliating that was for me.

My experience here is never great. There’s never any hand-held baskets just to pick up a few things, not even enough carts in general (and that’s when it’s not super busy). From my experience, the employees aren’t the nicest either. Don’t even say hi or smile back, just today I grabbed a reusable bag to purchase and it was grabbed right out of my hands without warning by an employee to have it scanned. This employee proceeded to stand over my shoulders for the duration of the checkout experience, despite having many other kiosks occupied at the time. Definitely not a welcoming or friendly environment.
