“A massive thank you to Eric (the GM) and Carl (the hitch installer) at the Cornwall U-Haul. I ended up driving out here last-minute after an abysmal, unprofessional, and disappointing experience at the Coventry Road location in Ottawa—where staff lied about booking policies for hitch installation for an appointment made 3 weeks in advance, refused to offer any help or solutions, and refused to let me take the parts I had ordered.

​Going to Cornwall was an unplanned drive, but it was absolutely worth it. Eric and Carl accommodated a last-minute installation and proved they are incredibly knowledgeable professionals who take massive pride in their work. Carl used some brilliant creative problem-solving to complete the installation while keeping all the trim pieces on my car completely intact. On top of that, when they realized I had zero previous towing experience, they took extra time to answer some questions about trailer laws in Ontario.

​As a bonus, the parts and labor here came out to less than 25% of what my dealership quoted me—and the dealership job would have been done by someone with a fraction of Carl's hitch expertise. If you need a hitch installed, skip the frustration in Ottawa. It is well worth the drive to Cornwall to get superior service from these two gentlemen.

“U-Haul as a company I strongly dislike but they are lucky they have good employees like Chris at this location who can quickly clean up the appointment messes the U-Haul company makes. Chris was very professional; I was upset about my reservation and he was understanding, nice and quick to assist.

“We came through Cornwall on our way East with a 20 foot uhaul truck. We felt that it was overloaded and wanted to upgrade to the larger 26 footer. The dealer assisted us with the upgrade with some assistance from areas general manager, then allowed us to unload and load in the back lane behind his business. They checked on us all day and offered assistance where they could. We are thankful for all they did for us as it was a harrowing day.”
