The staff is friendly and professional, and the store is clean with well-structured aisles. There is a wide variety of groceries, foodstuffs, and ingredients available. I particularly enjoyed the Asian food section and snacks. The shopping cart moved smoothly without making any annoying sounds. However, some of the prices on the vegetables could be more competitive.

I would like to commend this store for hiring one of Loblaw’s biggest assets: Vanthi, an employee who will do anything to protect the bottom line of profits for Galen Weston Jr. On a Thursday night before close, this employee (and another older lady) decided it was worth going on overtime, inconveniencing customers and team members over a mere 10,000 PC Optimum points and $1.50.After noticing my grocery bill failed to account for PC Member pricing and points despite qualifying, I questioned the cashier. While lovely, she was powerless to do anything. Instead, I was advised to escort myself to customer service, just before closing. You would think that employees would want to process customers and clock out ASAP. Not Vanthi.I explained my situation and showed her my receipt. I even display the PC App and Flipp app with the Loblaws flyer on my phone. Vanthi tells me they don't go by Flipp. Okay...fine. She pulls out the physical flyer. Perfect. I flip to the page and point to the same picture that I just showed her on Flipp a moment ago. Vanthi seems confused. She does not think this flyer applies here. She adamantly decides “I need to see the sign in-store”. Okay, I wasn’t aware Loblaws The East Mall likes to go rogue and follow different rules from the corporate flyer, but I don’t dispute it.Another customer overhears this conversation (bless her heart), tells me I should return the items and re-buy to avoid this kerfuffle. I agree and tell Vanthi to process the refund and I'll deal with this another day. She is hesitant and insists if I return, she would not be able to honor me any points (which is confusing as I wasn’t awarded any to begin with). She instead calls another employee to confirm. I’m feeling exasperated at what should have been a straightforward/easy process. At this point, to save everyone from further misery, I offer to get the in-store offer sign myself. I laser-focus my vision on the aisle, and zoom back in record time, sign in hand. Instead of feeling relieved that this was the end, Vanthi looked puzzled. She tells me I need to buy one of each of the items on the sample photo (contrary to the written text beside it). Not satisfied when I questioned this, Vanthi calls in another employee, the older female with whitish-grayish hair. They both analyze the flyer/sign and my situation, and determine I must not be rewarded any points for 1 or more of the following reasons:1) Not scanning my card properly (despite being prominently displayed on the receipt and my PC App Transactions)2) Me not loading the PC offers properly (I ensured I did before entering the store, but even if so, this was also irrelevant towards a flyer deal offering in-store points)3) I must have already “redeemed” the offer to collect points at an earlier time and so it was invalid (yes, the older employee actually hinted in an accusatory way that I must have shopped these items at an earlier time and now I’m trying to “cash in” on these points)I was honestly flabbergasted. These two employees were now suggesting various faults that I must have done in order not to be rewarded these points. Were they proposing I was lying and sleezing my way to get these points? I suppose because somehow, the alternative that the system was faulty for rewarding PC points was too unbelievable to fathom. My saving grace came from a THIRD team member, a young lady with brown hair, presumably a supervisor/manager, who finally came in and CONFIRMED everything I said was sane/correct. Finally, Vanthi processes my long-awaited points. I also ask her to price adjust the other items. She is shocked and blurts out: “You were already awarded the 10,000 points! These can’t apply.” Good grief. I once again, pull up my PC App and lo and behold, I'm confirmed to be correct again.Although I’m thankful to the lady at the end, my experience is a giant “no thank you”. The judgment is unreal. I would rate this experience as being worse than removing 4 wisdom teeth without anesthetic. If you value your brain cells, make sure to use the self-checkout.

Today I visited this location and received horrible, offensive imprudent service. This complaint is directed towards the service I received from the store manager named James who was on duty and who is very rude, unprofessional and who does not follow the rules of the company. The policy of the store is, If you notice that an item scans incorrectly, you should notify the cashier. Once the cashier is notified, the cashier should follow the store's procedures in resolving the issue and the item should be given to the customer for free, which was in my case. But this manager on duty named James was very rude, disrespectful toward me and said he has the right not to serve and told me to Get Out Of the Store. I was with my daughter and when she heard his loud voice with his bad tone telling us to Get out from the store she started to get scared and started to cry. I had no choice but to leave and to calm down my daughter.I looked back and saw him laughing at me behind my back, which I found very unprofessional and being bullied by this individual.I used to shop from this store over the decades and now do not recommend this location to anyone and will complain about this issue to an actual store manager Carly Auberger.

Well organized grocery store. Although I've realized they are low on staff as you will rarely see staff on the floor. Overall it is a clean store. You can find anything
