Only go into the Branch a few times a year for coin. The tellers are rude. Dont like your job? Get a new one.

DONT DEAL WITH SCOTIA. THERE'S A REASON THEY'RE NUMBER 5 OUT OF 5 on the banking reviews list. Nothing but problems from the moment I signed my mortgage papers. Their hours are terrible so I use the machine 99% of the time. So many issues with banking and always at my expense. They take no responsibility and you have to fight to be reimbursed. Bank machine is a nightmare. NEVER accepts all my cash for deposit. Also ATE MY CARD two Fridays in a row. Worst case so far: I deposited $860 cash through the machine. (On a FRIDAY) Machine had an error. Machine never acknowledged taking my money. I received a slip with no details other than a phone number. Call.... I have to wait til Monday. (Broke all weekend) call Monday they tell me there was no money stuck in the machine! Ask for a manger who then tells me they have to do an investigation which can take a week! All my money is gone. Payments due to come out, and I'm waiting a WEEK?! I then have genius idea and say "how about you WATCH THE VIDEO footage from the atm?! He then says.... "we did watch the video"... and I said AND!?!?!?! and he says "we didn't see you depositing the money". I pause.... wait... are you saying you didn't see that because of a bad camera angle or ARE YOU SAYING IM LYING?! He then says "im just saying we have to do our process and do an investigation. We'll let you know within a week". Keep in mind my account has over draft, I have an AVAILABLE $27, 000 line of credit i have full acces to, AND they hold a $62,000 mortgage on a $350,000 house I own. THEY COULDNT TRUST ME ON $860!?!!? I THINK OM GOOD FOR IT. AND if I'm NOT, THEY HAVE ACCESS TO $300,000 IN ASSETS!!! In the end I get the money back with a SHORT email with NO APOLOGY. I incurred nsf fees and multiple charges on my account which I had to fight to get reimbursed. That story is ONE of about 10 others in 4 years. This isnt including the 60% chance the bank machine is either down, wont take your bills, or SOMETHING. Not to mention I don't trust the banking on general. They dont record everything that happens in and of the account. If there's an error, where money is taken then replaced, it will show for a day then completely GONE from record, like it never happened and you have no proof. So if their error caused any issues youre SO.L. to prove it. If they're that shadey it makes me question EVERYTHING. No respect for customers. Terrible customer service. Too many CRAZY stories to even list.

The bank should be open until at least 5:30 every night. The average person works until at least 5 or open Saturdays till 1;00pm. The hours are ridiculous

Had some troubles a few months back in trying to move my father back to the country in the middle of the pandemic. Not having many options and understanding the banks position with limited resources for me due to security reasons. By just inquiring and asking question the teller became increasingly agitated and condescending. After being confronted about her attitude she voiced her frustration with me asking question when I was simply looking for any solution to help my father set up an account. Her defence was that I was making her feel bad that she couldn't help and thats why she acted with hostility. Never dealt with such unprofessional behavior in my life.

I’ve only been at Scotiabank for not that long. They are very nice and friendly. I’m glad they are not like royal bank. I’ was disappointed thro that they. Declined me for a credit card, even thro I was discharged from a bankruptcy. I’m glad my wife and I are switching back to Scotiabank.
