We had the pleasure of dining at Danu Cellars while in Grand Bend on a family getaway. While the winery and facility (beautifully decorated for the Holidays) impressed, the meal exceeded even our highest expectations. From the moment we arrived the service was exceptional (thanks Jaimie) with attentiveness and attention to detail. With the bar set high the meal did not fail in delivering. From the appetizer to entree to dessert and beyond, the meal was exquisite and a culinary experience. In a family of 8 adults with very distinctive taste (including a vegan) there was only words of praise for every course. Kudos to the chef on a remarkable meal that will rank high in our memories and all but assure our return to Grand Bend and the Dark Horse.

This was our first visit to Danu Cellar and, it will most certainly, not be our last time, to dine at this positively remarkable establishment. The atmosphere, service and food was well beyond five stars!!!! The four of us enjoyed this beautiful restaurant and, we were astonished at the service quality and incredibly delicious food.Jamie Vogt was our server. Jamie - you made a very good and indelible impression upon the four of us. You were upbeat, professional, courteous and delightful. We have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending Danu Cellar and, as I previously stated - we will definitely be returning, to once again enjoy the dinning splendour which is Danu Cellar.

Thanksgiving brunch was a fail.If you are going to source local ingredients and charge $35/ person, cooking the food well is imperative. Such quality ingredients were ruined by poor cooking standards. Very disappointed after driving an hour for a less than mediocre brunch. I wish I had taken a photo to show how unappetizing the plate looked. Also, to be clear, your professionalism and lack of ability to take criticism as a business is disgusting. After reading some of the 1 star reviews, I think people should read more into those before attending a place that has such low standards for business practices. Who speaks to their customers like that? Grow up and find an employee who can regulate their emotions to respond in a polite manner to customers. That all being said, as a customer who was returning to give this establishment a second chance, I would not recommend wasting your time or money. Go to a winery that appreciates the people who keep their business thriving.Edit: in response to dark horse, we must have attended a different brunch than what you’re referring to because I have no idea what you’re talking about. The only people that came to our table were your son who cleared half the plates and the server who cleared the other half. The server we did speak to, a young lady, did get told that we were disappointed with the meal and said she would speak with the chef. So no, your management team, chef and owners did not visit every table. I won’t back down to your lies and excuses, nice try though. Understandably, you would want to stand behind your staff. But when your staff isn’t performing, and customers are noticing that, you should probably reevaluate. People can say anything online with reviews as you said, and this is my personal opinion of this establishment. If you don’t like that, too bad. The whole point of leaving reviews is leave an honest opinion. Yes, cooking for a large number of people is difficult, but as a large venue that offers weddings, you should be used to that. The quality was not there. But again, going back to accepting criticism, the pettiness in your response shows it all. If you don’t want people calling you out for things that are posted on google, maybe consider the fact that what you post on the internet is there for everyone to see. Therefore, by posting online, you make it everyone’s business. Cheers.

For Thanksgiving, my boyfriend and I decided to attend their Thanksgiving brunch they had arranged at Dark Horse Estate Winery. Doors were open at 10:30 a.m. with the buffet being ready on time at 11am. While enjoying our meal there was live music being performed by Stelle & Carter which was amazing, after our meal we went out to the vineyards for a wagon ride and even ran into some furry friends (goats) on our ride. We bought some wine from their store to enjoy at home and left still full from our meal. Awesome time, thanks to everyone at Dark Horse Winery for making it such a great atmosphere.

My girlfriends and I decided to go away to Grand Bend for the weekend and Dark Horse Estate Winery was on our list of things we wanted to visit. We had such a fun time, the food and drinks were spectacular, really enjoyed trying the different types of wines they produce. Gorgeous vineyard, really nice to enjoy a drink on the patio and enjoy the view! Will definitely be going back!

My husband and I had no big family plans for Thanksgiving, so we decided to attend The Dark Horse Estate Winery for their Thanksgiving brunch on Sunday. We LOVED the food, the buffet featured a variety of options and a lot of the food was local sourced which I found very interesting! The chef even made time in his busy schedule to come out and interact with the guests to see how they were enjoying their meal. I could not have asked for a better way to spend my Thanksgiving.

If you’re looking for a show stopping dining experience, look no further than this Grand Bend gem! We had the pleasure of enjoying a meal at Danu Cellars at Dark Horse and it was incredible! The farm to table forward menu was filled with gluten-free options and, of course, their delicious wine! The attentive and helpful staff made for an incredible experience and I cannot wait to return :)

On July 29, 2023 my wife and I decided to go for a drive from London to The Dark Horse Winery on a lunch date. What a DISAPPOINTMENT. The pizzas (3 to choose from and about 10" in diameter) were $25.00!!! They had a minimal selection of appies all ridiculously overpriced. The charcuterie board was $45.00 so we decided to share a pizza and their "artisan bread board". Luckily we had a ringside seat, mere feet from where the pizza cook also prepared the appetizers. He reached below and brought out a large Tupperware container, selected 8 slices of pre sliced bread ( two different kinds so 4 of each), placed them on a baking tray, threw them in the oven and voila. They were accompanied by some spreads that were hmmm perhaps Costco bought...$16.00 for that. I had two "5" oz glasses of their wine at $16.00 per glass. My wife had a Sangria for $12.00 (no bad) Are you friggen kidding me! The pizza was very similar to Dr. Oetker frozen pizza! So to sum up it was extremely overpriced, mediocre in quality and quantity of food/wine. On the plus side our waitress was friendly and the view was lovely! So, being generous I will given them a 5/10 overall. Save your time and money!

I went to dark horse winery for the first time in 2019 and I had such a great wine tasting experience. The staff were amazing. Since then every time there is a case sale I’ve been purchasing and delivered in no time. I’ve been very happy with every case that I get. I will be visiting soon!!

Great place to visit near grand bend!We got the wine tasting for two, and the sommelier we had was very knowledgeable. We learned a big deal about the winery and wines around Ontario. Also, you get to keep a set of wine glasses with the wine taste experience. We were late for the wood oven pizza on the patio (make sure to get there before 4 pm). They also have dine-in options in a beautiful restaurant in the basement. The patio is Pet Friendly, and you can walk your dog and take some wine around the exterior areas of the building. The building is beautiful, and the attention to detail and interior design is spectacular. They held private celebrations at their Cellar, where they have around 100yrs old cedar tables (stunning!), and also have other salons where they host weddings and business events. The staff is very friendly and the wine is top quality! We bought some wines to take home and some other items that have at the store.

Beautiful setting, we ended up there on a rainy day. The grounds are breathtaking and the indoors area is just amazing. They had a wide variety of wines. We were not able to order food because it was too early.
