I went to the Sudbury store and was greeted immediately with friendly staff and when I found a table set that I liked she asked for the manager to assist in ordering one for me, which only took one week to arrive and he actually recognized me from my other visits throughout the years ? I have been a return customer for the past six years and enjoy all of my furniture pieces. Great prices and great staff! I picked up my order today and the warehouse staff were also very friendly and loaded it into my vehicle promptly, thank you! I have referred many of my family and friends to shop there. And when I need something else I will definitely be back!

We bought a new recliner couch and loveseat from the store. Our sales person, Jennifer, was extremely helpful, cheery and very knowledgeable. She made our purchase sooooooo easy. The delivery crew showed up rather quickly, set up for us. They too were friendly and professional. I highly recommend this store for your furniture needs, thank you so much!!

They kicked me out because I could not understand someone with an accent. so I politely asked for another worker to help give me assistance with purchasing two dressers and two dresser mirrors.
Luckily they did that because I got to purchase those items I was looking for, somewhere else for cheaper and for an actual same-day delivery.

Typically, We've received decent service there but they have a girl that works there now who is arrogant, rude and annoying. She continuously spoke over me loudly and lacked a tremendous amount of customer service, tact and poise. Instead of buying the 2 couches we intended to buy today, we bought a new truck instead. I'll shop there again when she's gone !

Absolutely amazing shopping experience! I had multiple requests and was looking for specific qualities in my new couches and Jennifer found exactly what i was looking for and then some! Got to bring our couches home that day and picked up our ottoman’s a few days later! Im especially thankful about their knowledge on how to help improve credit aswell! Overall experience was amazing! Absolutely recommend and will be shopping here again! Love that the couches we got are made in Canada too!

Bought quite a few pieces of furniture and a king size bed, I run an airbnb and they also have very soft bamboo mattress protectors that stand the test of time. The matress has been in use for about two years in the airbnb and not one stain on the mattress. This allowed me to buy a higher end pillow top bed for comfort of my guests. Thank you so much for all your outstanding work.

Morons working in the shipping and receiving. Said before I purchased the couch that it would DEFINITELY fit in my truck, then drove 20ft in their parking lot and watched the strap fall right off the load they strapped down.
This place is more of a hassle than anything.

My husband and I stopped in to take a look at the couch selection today. We were immediately greeted by Jennifer at the door who was friendly and asked the right questions - what are we looking for, what size, what is our timeline for purchase. She guided us to the couches that fit our descriptions which made the shopping experience personalized and super efficient. Once we had settled on our choice she had us set up to pay and pick up immediately! Our warranty options were presented to us thoroughly but never pushed on us. The experience was really pleasant and extremely easy - PLUS we have a nice, comfy, perfect-for-us brand new couch!
Thanks Jennifer and the Surplus Furniture team for the easy breezy, personalized shopping experience! Will definitely return!

There seems to be a disconnect between what their policy is and what some employees think it is. July 4’24 i put down my first deposit on a couch i wanted. An employee called me July 8 & July 10th asking me if i was still buying the item because they had people ready to buy it then and there “i understand wanting to make a sale but this was an aggressive tactic as we had spoken about my payment in full by july 20’24.”
Fortunately, a friend of mine showed me the same furniture item elsewhere for half the price so i accepted to opt for that instead. So i called July 13 to let surplus know i wouldn’t need it anymore, the employee who answered me said i’d be eligible for a refund on the deposits i put down.
Upon arriving at surplus and speaking with an employee July 14’24 at around 1pm the employee felt the need to tell me that I am “only getting a refund this one time because they called me twice and were under the impression i was still buying it and that they could’ve already sold the item already”.
I understood where they were coming from, but also mentioned that the calls they refer to do not apply according to their own policy. This was met with “we’re just having a conversation” in a not so customer service friendly tone.
I understand the sales industry, i did a few years in cell phone sales with commission earnings. I understand this employees frustration but it seemed that only their side mattered which was quite unfortunate and with how they spoke it seemed to be that they overrode policy.
I was going to come back to buy out a bunk bed but i will not be returning, i can not support a business that tries to sell a customers products on layaway while they are making payments, i can not support a business that doesn’t uphold their own policies & speaks to customers like this, i will not be recommending this business to anyone.

Guys at the store were great and knowledgeable. They helped my fiancé and I find a new king mattress and helped set up delivery.
Delivery guys were also friendly dudes and were accommodating to our busy schedule!
