I found this wonderful place when searching for a place to get alterations done for an upcoming family wedding. Fabulous job on both dresses. I bought one of the dresses at the shop. They have a wonderful selection of clothing from casual to formal, accessories too. Very pleasant Lady, who owns the shop. I will definitely be going back. ???

Kathy's ability to shop my closet and find outfits that I never considered is amazing! I love that I am not having to spend hours in the mall and my wardrobe is being used to its full potential. I highly recommend a Wardrobe Shape-up if you feel your image and spirits need a little boost!

Dressings is my place of choice for alterations and dress making. My first experience was when they designed my prom dress. I brought a sketch and they made it to my exact specifications, making adjustment at each fitting. Kathy is an incredible and generous person as well. I remember when I came in to pick up my dress, there was a girl in the store getting some last minute tightening on her prom dress. She wasn't even a customer and Kathy didn't charge her. I've since come back for several hemmings, a sari, bridesmaids dresses and I always leave satisfied. I've moved, but I am still happy to make the drive in from Kitchener for Dressings. Highly recommend.

I'd driven by Dressings many times and kept saying I would stop in but I never did. Finally I made it, and I'm so glad. I've been many times since. I love her assortment of clothing and accessories...all by small designers who specialize in clothes that are comfortable to wear and make ordinary women look great. Cathy is a wonderful stylist. She listens to what you like, notices what you gravitate toward, and makes suggestions based on your personality and preferences rather than current trends. She's also a lovely person who genuinely enjoys what she does and is generous with her skills. She recommended an outfit for me, and I get compliments each time I wear it. My mom even asked where she could buy the pants. I've also taken some important items for alterations, and I trust her. Be clear, this is not fast fashion like Old Navy and Walmart, so don't expect those kinds of prices either, but it's good quality and it lasts and it is unique.

I have never been so unhappy with an experience in my life. Over a month ago I came to this shop to have my old A-line prom dress simply taken from floor length to just below my knee and it has resulted in my dress being destroyed. When I went back for my second fitting nothing had been done at all. Only a few inches had been cut off of the several feet that needed shortening and no straps had been made. At my third fitting I went in to only a rough cut and one sleeve only held on by pins. It had now been a month at this point, I had never been given a quote once, and my dress came back with errors every time. Upon expressing my concern about the quickly approaching deadline for the wedding I was assured when I came in for my final fitting (yesterday) I would be leaving with my perfect dress... That was NOT the case. I arrived to pick up my dress to find only 1 strap had been attached and was the wrong size (despite taking my measurements at every visit) and the finished hem was 3 completely different lengths! 3 DIFFERENT LENGTHS! I have never witnessed such poor delivery of service! Despite being in tears in her shop begging for a solution my concerns were brushed aside and told that this "wasnt her fault, her dress makers are wonderful" and told me I had no right to be upset over the fact that my beautiful $300 dress was now 3 different lengths and sleeveless three days before the wedding. This morning I showed up and removed my dress from her shop due to total lack of trust in this shop and its owner. To think it is okay to hand a paying customer a dress of different lengths that she entrusted to you for a very special day is appalling and do not even get me started on that fact that after a month and a half of waiting for a dress that they ruined, I was being charger over $150 for the shotty work. I would never ever recommend this store, not even to have a button sewed back on unless you would like to pay an arm and a leg, and leave with a coat that has one long arm, and one short sleeve. Absolutely disgusted.

Beautiful place and professional staff!Who would have known one alteration could change the mind of how the Mother of the bride looks and feels about her once loved dress. Disappointed, teary eyed and to close to the wedding to make it right. If I am being honest good business owners sometimes make mistakes. You may think it looks nice and beautiful, but I am the one wearing this gown that is now uncomfortable and does not lay properly, I just wish it wasn't with such an important and expensive dress. I have no choice but to pay and wear something I am so very unhappy with. In future , I will ask what is involved with the alteration that is being done and ask to speak directly to the person who is doing the alteration and how it may alter the outfit in anyway. Lesson learned.

Kathy does careful work and isn't happy until the job is right. Her charges are reasonable and she understands the importance of deadlines. I can't imagine an alterationist providing better service.

This place does an okay job. If you want to spend the extra money on a pant hem this is the location for you. They are $22 for a hem... I am dissatisfied with the waist take in on one pant which cost me $25!
