I told two associates we were celebrating my daughter's birthday. We had driven over an hour to get there. They unenthusiasticly walked us through the process and sang her a birthday song. I was already disappointed in the lack of effort, if you don't enjoy children don't work at Build-A-Bear. But when we paid the bear cost $37+tx. I asked why it wasn't the cost of her age and was told she picked the wrong bear. It was never mentioned that there were specific bears for bdays, otherwise we would have chosen a very similar bear. They were non apologetic and suggested we return the bear my daughter had just built as her birthday present, even sewing her soothers inside. There was no apology or accountability or care in the world. Unfortunately head office were just as dismissive.
The associates name was Trish. I only mention this because I now see others have rated the same terrible experience with the same person. It definitely wasn't an off day from the reviews I've read below.

Amazing service, they were very kind as we got our matching stuffed frogs. I don’t have the staffs name but she did a great job at giving us the build-a-bear experience even as we are adults. Huge thanks!

My boyfriend and I went to this location today to buy our first build a bears together. The person at the kiosk was absolutely lovely (I believe their name was Averei). 10/10 experience!

Amazing store. We took our daughter to get a birthday bear for her first birthday. Harleigh built our bear with us. She was so sweet and made the experience delightful. Highly recommend this Build- a- Bear!

Serena gave me an incredible experience today! She was an absolute ray of sunshine while I purchased my Bidoof Build-a-Bear. She was incredibly sweet, very talkative with us through the whole process, and helped suggest names for my new friend!I'll definitely be returning to this location for future purchases!

Bought a bear for my wife for our anniversary. I didn't really know what I was doing, but luckily Constance was there and asking the right questions! My wife loved it! We may have to go back for more clothes lol
