For the price this gym is not bad. The staff are all great to be honest or at least the ones I interacted with or observed. The equipment for the most part is fine but sometimes the weight machines are down for repair. The washroom sinks need a bit of work and better cleaning. When it's busy, it can get very crowded.

Brutal gym, equipment is always broken, bathroom is disgusting. Can’t even play music without ads on Spotify. Listening to ads for KY jelly everyday you’re at the gym.

The staff are great. What’s not great is the facility. At least 6 treadmills at this time are out of order, 2 of the 3 stair climbers, multiple multiple other pieces of equipment. There was a storage container used to catch water dripping from the ceiling, fountain overflowing for at least a week, out of order bathroom, burnt out lights, etc etc. I could go on. Also extremely busy at all hours with insufficient equipment to accommodate the number of people who go there. The rates are attractive but not worth it at all.

It’s ok. You get what you pay for. Affordable gym with lots of space. Classes are inconsistent and at awkward times. No apparent climate control. But as budget gyms go, at least this one has windows.

Staff are friendly but the location is a bit tight. There is a separate workout room which is available for individual use when not used by classes. Air movement and A/C should be better.

My experience with this crunch has been terrible. The staff are terribly trained and have no gym etiquette. I went in to cancel my membership at the front desk with an employee. The employee told me that my membership had been cancelled and I wouldn’t be billed anymore. I was then billed for the next month and an annual fee which I was unaware it existed. I feel like I was lied to by the employee and stolen from. And all the manager did was say sorry and refused to refund me because I didn’t have “proof”. I do not recommend to anyone who likes trust and honesty.

Amazing place to workout, thanks to my husband who introduced me to this place! The staff is always extra helpful and kind. I just recently joined the gym but never felt such warmth!

Have been a member here for years. My payment didn't go through for some reason and as a result they waited an entire two months before contacting me so that they could incur an additional late fee charge. Although they say they are required to reach out in a timely manner, they said the list is just too long and that's apparently why it took two months to reach out to me. This seems like unfair behaviour that shouldn't be taken lightly by any loyal patron such as myself. I never had any issues with paying them. I cancelled my membership immediately after agreeing to pay a total of almost $100 for the missed payments with late fees. (Normal charge was usually around $11.00.) So for 2 months they were able to pocket an extra added amount of almost 60 dollars!!! This is not okay, and will not be returning and will advise anybody I know/gym goers that this is not the business to sign any sort of agreement with as they will do anything possible to joust you for money. Also, the facilities are usually smelly and at least a few treadmills are usually out of order meaning you might not even be able to get the workout in that you wanted, unless you're willing to wait.

Scam agreement on personal training classes unlimited auto renewal payments! more than $1200 dollars!!! I registered my 15-year-old son, at the time, and myself into the Crunch Gym at east Hamilton, that was last year, they offered us a personal trainer for my son, I paid for 8 classes in advance to see how it worked with him. The coach was constantly failing the appointments and in the end he resigned from the gym in training number 7 of 8 that I paid for. I requested a refund of the class not taken, which they denied, but said that he could take this class with someone else, I told the manager of trainers at the time, Joey, that this would not work for us and requested to cancel the personal training for my son.We resummed going to the gym after almost one year ,but we continued paying the monthly membership and now they tell me that I owe $1,300 dollars in personal training because the contract is for "unlimited classes". I don't remember signing for "unlimited training" and it doesn't sound right. They said they sent this "agreement" to my 15 year old email, which I of course never received because my son barely checked his email, If that agreement indeed was made, they should've sent it to me, not to a minor. Through all this time, even though they could've made the charges to my credit card, they never did, if they would've made those charges I would've solved this long time before getting a $1300 bill. So this has been dishonest to say the least, as they know perfectly well, my son has not taken any of those classes they silently have been puttin on my account. I spoke with the manager and with the current coach manager, and they told me that I have to pay in full or they would send the debt to the collector, and ruin my credit. They tried to put the blame on me by arguing that I misunderstood because my English is not good enough. The point is that they should not have let the non taken clases accumulate, nor send an agreement to the email of a minor. And finally, a contract for "unlimited" payment for anything, sounds more like a "scam" than a fair and honest agreement between parties, particularly when the agreement in question involves a minor. They basically want to get paid for a service they didn't deliver, nor was used.

Five stars because ever since Joel joined the team we have not had an early morning no show with everyone waiting outside for an employee to arrive. The gym is nothing fancy, but it has everything you need and the morning crowd is great. Props again to Joel for always being there and being a great guy to have a chat with.

This place has the most bang for your buck and good all around. Clandestine location with the Trans Canada Rail Trail behind and Hamilton mountain beyond plenty of parking space. Plenty of room for the late evening types. Mix of old and new equipment. Yoga room is nice upstairs. I like the color layout in all of the areas, has an strange vibe to it being underground with a huge ceiling to wall window in the corner. Its not a gigantic gym, but it has great atmosphere. (Choice of music could use some work lol).

Awesome bang for your buck gym if you’re a student at McMaster. Definitely better than pulse. Great maintenance and super friendly staff. Can’t ask for a better gym experience ?

I've been a member at this Crunch location for six months now and I couldn't be happier. The gym has exceeded my expectations in every way - from the top-notch equipment to the friendly and helpful staff. What's more, the cost is super affordable, making it accessible to anyone, regardless of their budget. Overall, I'd highly recommend Crunch to anyone looking for an affordable and top-quality gym experience. 11/10, will keep working out here!

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Gym is always very clean and tidy. Sanitation spray and towels are always fully equipped and stocked. Everyone that attends the gym are always so friendly, but usually they keep to themselves so that people can focus on their workouts!

I recently joined this gym, and I've to say, it's been one of the best decisions I've made for my health and fitness. The facilities are top-notch, with a wide range of equipment and plenty of space to move around. The staffs are incredibly friendly. Overall, I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a welcoming and effective fitness environment.
