I have been a client of Monika’s since 2010 so this review is long overdue. I have used her and her team for countless occasions over the years and they have never let me down. I have absolutely loved every experience with either Monika, Meaghan or other members of her team at Makeup Worx.
From start to finish, they exceed all expectations. The flawless airbrush technique they use always gives my skin a stunning, filter like finish – smooth, even, and radiant without feeling heavy at all. It’s like having a professional Instagram filter applied in real life! The individual lashes are a dream. They feel weightless and yet give me such a dramatic eye look. And they last - not just for the event but for days afterwards!
I love and tend to lean towards a dramatic smoky eye and the ones they create for me are always nothing short of incredible – perfectly blended and so dramatic, yet soft and wearable. No one does a smoky eye like Monika or Meaghan. I also often bring in reference images for the looks I want and Monika and her team replicate it exactly – every detail is on point!
What really stands out though is their skill and artistry, using only the latest and highest quality make up products and techniques. They take their craft very seriously and are constantly honing their skills and it shows in every step of the application. Whether you’re looking for a soft glam or something bold and edgy, these ladies have the talent and products to make it happen.
More importantly is the connection they make with their clients. Monika especially has always gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, special and happy with the final result. From 4 am wake up times to squeezing me in to her very busy schedule, she always does whatever she can to make me happy.
I highly recommend Makeup Worx for any and every special occasion. The genuine care and attention to detail from such top tier makeup artists will have me coming back as a client for life!

Makeup Worx was phenomenal! I can't do lashes to save my life & had a very special wedding to attend & wanted to look my best for my favourite little cousin's big day. Monika did an incredible job & made me look 10 years younger but more importantly... she made me feel beautiful. Both the process & the final results were off the charts! She is so kind, skilled & professional I highly recommend Makeup Worx.

**This is all alleged** Multiple people had advised me not to book with Makeup Worx due to their policy of charging extra on top of the deposit if you cancel. I had heard stories during Covid where people’s venues were closed and she was still charging 50% of services for events people by law could not have. This is a really exploitative business practice and I haven’t come across other vendors that do that. I booked with her as no one was else available but 3 weeks after booking called off my wedding as I finally had the courage to leave an extremely abusive relationship. I spoke with Monika and she was passive aggressive and came across as downright rude on the phone and the email correspondence after while she “tried” to rebook my date. She is very sweet during your initial conversations with her but from my experience and hearing others she turns quickly when things aren’t working out. Obviously if someone is cancelling their wedding this is a very sensitive time for them. I asked her to work with me and just keep the deposit but she insisted on charging the 50% of the services while my other vendors were willing to work with me. I had no issue with her keeping my deposit as that’s fair, but to charge on top of that I feel is a really unfair business practice. I also tried to get her to work with me and see if I could use the money I would be paying for the deposit and 50% of services to gift to my cousin who is getting married. She was completely unwilling to work with me in any capacity. I had lost my house, my belongings and my life but all she cared about was getting her money. She said she had declined sooooo many bookings and now can’t rebook it which I find hard to believe - which is it? I would think twice about having someone like Monika be a part of your special day as she is someone who lacks empathy and compassion in my opinion. I also have noticed after this review has gone up she has gotten fake reviews posted from accounts who have no prior reviews to try and hide this review. *This is all alleged**

I can’t recommend Monika and the Makeupworx team enough! We were referred to them for my daughter’s graduation, and they exceeded all expectations. The mobile team came to our home and did hair and makeup for my daughter and four of her friends. Everything was beautifully organized, and the girls felt completely at ease and absolutely stunning—ready for their big moment.
They truly felt like princesses!
Thank you, Monika, for making my daughter’s special day even more memorable. :-)

Makeupworx was absolutely amazing—I highly recommend them! Monika and the Makeupworx team did both hair and makeup for our bridal party, and they were incredible to work with. During my trial, Monika was extremely professional and clearly passionate about her craft. On the morning of the wedding, she brought such a calming presence that really helped put me at ease. She even went the extra mile to expertly conceal an allergy rash on my lip—her skills are truly magical! I can’t recommend Monika enough to any bride—she’s simply brilliant.

I had a great experience with my wedding hair and makeup team for my wedding in April 2025! I found it easy to book my date, trial, and they were flexible when I asked to add an additional person a few months before the wedding.
They arrived right on time (early, actually) and worked efficiently to keep everything running smoothly. All of my bridesmaids, my mom, and the mother of the groom looked stunning and felt so confident. Everyone raved about the airbrush makeup—it looked flawless and held up perfectly through the whole day and night.
A special shoutout to Meaghan, who did my makeup—she made me feel like a total princess and was the ultimate hype girl on the morning of the wedding. I seriously could not have asked for a better energy or result. And Michelle nailed my hair! I can be a bit particular, and I decided to switch up the vibe a bit from my trial. She completely understood what I was going for, and the final look was even better than I imagined.
Everything ran smoothly and on schedule, and our hair and makeup lasted beautifully through all the ceremony, photos, and dancing. Thank you ladies!

Beyond happy with the services at Makeup Worx! I have now had my hair and make up done by them 4 times; for my bridal shower, a friend’s wedding and for my own wedding/trail. I was so happy with all 4 and would highly recommend! Not only are the staff friendly and professional but they are enjoyable to have around on your special day! On my wedding day it was extremely windy and my hair lasted the entire day, I was very impressed. Wish I could give 10 stars!

Monika and her team were absolutely incredible and we could not have had our wedding run as smoothly without them! We had a big group of bridesmaids and the team worked quickly, professionally and with so much love in the room. Monika is truly just the sweetest person and made me feel so beautiful! From the trial experience to the day of I just loved her energy and of course her prowess, my makeup was flawless and lasted all night long! Michelle did my hair and she also did a flawless perfectly stunning job. She worked very hard with my very difficult hair and it looked better than it ever has! Not to mention that the whole team jumped in to help out when we had a horrific champagne spill all over the mother of the groom's finished hair and makeup, as well as my maid of honor's dress. They truly saved the day by quickly working to fix the hair and makeup with calmness and focus, and also helped fix the champagne soaked dress by blow-drying it until it was dry and looking perfect again. This all happened about 20 minutes before the ceremony so I can't tell you how much they truly saved the day. They made everything possible and we all looked so fabulous. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

MakeupWorx was incredible! The coordination of my hair and makeup was seamless! Monika was always quick to reply or happy to jump on a call. A huge shout out to my makeup artist Stephanie and hair stylist Amanda. I had a beautiful morning getting ready for my wedding and they fit into our group seamlessly. Not only did we look better than we ever have before, we also had so much fun chatting!
The care and attention put in was incredible, including touch ups, giving us straws, leaving me a comb and Stephanie squeezing in time to do my mom's eyelashes! That all meant so much to me.

We got married on Sept 14th and I'm so grateful to have chosen Makeup Worx for my bridal makeup and bridesmaids makeup. Paula was our artist and she was absolutely incredible! From the moment we met at our trial, I felt so comfortable and confident with her abilities. It was a pleasure having her share our morning with us. Where do I even begin...I had the absolute best experience with Makeup Worx from start to finish. Monika was great and so easy to communicate with right from the start. She answered all my questions via email and explained the process during the initial consultation call which was great. She went over what to expect, the pricing structure and we made sure it was the perfect match before signing any contracts. For the trials, everything was perfect again! As someone who did not wear a ton of makeup I explained to Meaghan, who was my assigned makeup artist this and shared a few inspo pictures. She came back and created the most beautiful look that I loved and did not change anything on my wedding day. Katrina, my assigned hair stylist also created a beautiful look with my hair that I tweaked ever so slightly on the wedding day and loved even more! On my morning of the wedding the ladies arrived right on time, and helped myself, three bridesmaids, mother of the bride and mother of the groom get ready. Everyone loved their looks and got so many compliments throughout the night on how beautiful they looked. Starting at 6am and not being a morning person had me a little worried but the ladies positive energy really helped! Thank you so much Monika, Meaghan, and Katrina for making me and my girls feel so beautiful. I would 1000% recommend this company.

Monika and her team are the DREAM team!! I just had my wedding and Monika did my makeup and Michelle did my hair. They were absolutely amazing and made me feel so beautiful. Monika talked me through everything and ensured that every part of my makeup was perfect! Monika and her team killed everyone’s makeup! All of my bridesmaids, my mom, and mother in law loved their makeup and hair and all got so many compliments throughout the evening. Everyone was so so happy! I had Michelle from Makeup Worx as the hairstylist for my wedding in June - she did my hair, my mom, and 4 bridesmaids. Michelle was INCREDIBLE. So fast, so professional, and everyone was thrilled with their hairstyles. They all lasted all night long in perfect condition (despite a LOT of dancing and hugging). Booking with Makeup Worx was also a breeze, Monika was responsive, professional, and easy to work with! I would recommend this team to anyone looking for hair and makeup. Thank You so much!!
