"I had a very disappointing experience at trade secret east gare square Salon. I was running 15 minutes late, but the stylist refused to accommodate me despite my effort to get there as quickly as possible. I understand time is valuable, but some flexibility or communication would have been appreciated. This level of rigidity left me feeling undervalued as a customer. I will never come again very much disappointed

I’ve been a loyal Trade Secrets customer for years and have usually had good experiences, especially with eyebrow waxing. However, my recent hair appointment was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a stylist.
I booked a cut, colour, and style, expecting to pay around $180 as quoted. I even brought a photo to show exactly what I wanted (what I've had done in the past). The stylist didn’t seem to understand then I wanted a lighter hair colour overall and a layered cut, and I left with a haircut that took two quick snips (I had to cut my own bangs at home), a colour barely different from what I started with, and no styling—despite paying for all three services. To make matters worse, the stylist and aesthetician spoke in their own language the entire time, even when I expressed my dissatisfaction, which came across as dismissive and rude.
When it came time to pay, I was shocked by a bill of $350 (before tip)—nearly double the original quote—and the entire appointment took four hours instead of the usual two. None of my friends or family have even noticed that I had anything done to my hair.
I wish I had read some of the previous reviews before going in. I agree there must be new ownership because it seemed to be all new people. After reading other reviews, it’s clear I’m not the only one dissatisfied with their hair services at this location. I also believe the stylist is purposely overcharging, as his rates don’t match what’s on the website.
Please, save your money and go elsewhere!

Book an appointment to wash my hair arrived there only to be told that the hairdresser is not coming. They didn't even have the courtesy to call me and reschedule my appointment prior to me arriving. Waisted my gas, time and energy. Terrible service!

Got the worst service ever this morning! Went here just because this is closer but i wished i just drove at Limeridge mall because the lady who did my eyebrow wax left a cut under my eyebrow! She didnt clean my eyebrows properly and just ruined the shape of my eyebrow! I even have to tell her the areas that needs to be cleaned. Didnt trimmed properly and after she was done with me she didnt put anything to clean off the glue around my eyebrow! I had to come back to ask for a cotton ball with something to clean it off! It was a terrible service indeed!! She was more focused on other people buying their hair products! Will never come back to this location ever again. Im sorry but lady ( i dont know her name but she got 2 little ponytails on the front ) but you need to do a lot of practice! The cut you gave me was really painful.

The absolute worst hair experience I have had a salon EVER! If I could give zero stars I would. I have been to the Trade Secrets at Eastgate Square many times and always get blond highlights and lowlights and my hair has always turned out beautiful. They must have new ownership as there was all new staff. The guy that did my hair did not know what he was doing and destroyed/fried my hair and turned it grey. He did not put the foil strips right to my scalp so it looks like I already have growth and my roots are brown. To top it all off he charged me double the cost of what I had would normally pay somewhere else. I had to go to another salon to have my hair fixed! Save your money and go somewhere else. I will never be going back to this location!

Absolutely the WORST barbershop experience of my life. I wouldn’t even call what they did “haircutting”—it was more like “hair destruction.” I walked in expecting a simple trim and walked out looking like a blindfolded toddler took scissors to my head.
First off, the staff seemed completely uninterested in doing their job. The barber didn’t even ask me what I wanted, just started hacking away like he was cutting hedges! I asked for a fade, but what I got was some sort of uneven, patchy mess that made me look like I had a lawnmower accident.
To make matters worse, the place was filthy. Hair all over the floor, tools that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in days (or ever), and there was this weird, lingering smell that made the entire experience nauseating. Hygiene is clearly not a priority here.
The cherry on top? They had the audacity to overcharge me for this disaster! For what I paid, I could have gotten a professional haircut elsewhere or at least something that didn’t require me to immediately buy a hat to cover the damage.
Save yourself the horror and go literally anywhere else. This place is an disaster
