“I purchased a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Karm, the owner of Discovery Motors on Kenilworth Ave in Hamilton.His presentation of the vehicle was calm and professional and so he was very easy to deal with. I test drove it and made a purchase.After having driven the vehicle home to Ajax, Ontario, I call Karm to mention an intermittent noise of sorts in the drive train. I figured he had not noticed it in the short drives he had as I barely noticed it myself. Also the noise got worse as the vehicle warmed up.Even though I had not purchased any warranty, because it happened right away, Karm did not hesitate and told me to get it diagnosed.It turns out that the transfer case was worn. He was prepared to pay for the diagnosis and have it repaired at his cost with a guaranteed part from the auto recyclers.(I threw in a few extra dollars and had a reman box installed). It is back together and working perfectly.I feel like he treated me very well and stood behind his product. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my friends and family for their next vehicle purchase.”

Buying a used car is challenging for the consumer as we try to find a great deal for the least amount of money on a reliable vehicle. I imagine from a salesman perspective, it can also be challenge/frustrating dealing with consumers who hold you responsible for the 10-20 year history and future reliability of a used car under $10,000. The reality is the process is far from perfect.

Kamel and Boris did an outstanding job helping my daughter and I sort through the options they had. “After spending over 4 months looking for a reliable and affordable used car I finally found Mike off FB Marketplace. After viewing and test driving cars across the GTA from Kawartha Lakes to Oshawa, to Hamilton, to North York, and everything in between, and spending time going back and forth with dealerships, it was an actual godsend to find Mike.
I could tell immediately he had kids by the way he spoke to me and respected me. Being a young woman, I found it extremely frustrating dealing with prior sellers and having them address and speak to my boyfriend as if he was buying the car, even after explaining I am the buyer. I felt like my questions and concerns were treated like an obstacle rather than an important part of the buying process. There was little patience, transparency, and a sense that if I wasn't interested, someone else would be so my business didn't really matter.
However, Mike not only talked to me in a respectful and non-pressuring manner, but he took the time to fully explain things that were beyond my understanding. Rather than take advantage of my ignorance, he was extremely honest and took the time to lift the car and show me under the fenders and the entire underside of the car. He explained the history, the repairs the car went through, and what it would need to pass the safety. It was just so refreshing to talk to someone who speaks to you like a person rather than someone trying to speak carefully to hide things to sell you something.
I just took the car to my personal mechanic up in Aurora after driving it for about 3 weeks now and they thankfully assured me I made a good purchase.
