About Confederation Basin Marina
Confederation Basin Marina is a prime docking spot in downtown Kingston, situated where the Rideau River meets Lake Ontario and flows into the St. Lawrence River. Known as the freshwater sailing capital of North America, Kingston offers a lively mix of theatre, shopping, restaurants, museums, and nightlife just steps from the marina. The location provides stunning waterfront views, especially at sunset, making it a relaxing place to unwind after exploring the city. The marina staff are friendly and helpful, often assisting with docking and offering local recommendations. Visitors appreciate its convenient central location near tourist information, parks, and a variety of restaurants, making it a great base for discovering Kingston’s rich history and vibrant atmosphere. It is also close to events like the blues festival, adding to its appeal as a lively hub for fun and entertainment. However, some reviews mention that the docks could use better maintenance, and the walk to the washrooms and showers varies depending on where boats are docked. The facilities are generally decent, but cleanliness issues have been noted at times. Communication regarding reservations can be inconsistent, with some visitors experiencing difficulties with the 48-hour advance booking system or difficulty reaching staff by VHF or phone. Overall, Confederation Basin Marina offers a great location with friendly service, making it a popular choice for boaters visiting Kingston.
