I went to get some batteries and wanted to ask the cashier if this was the correct battery before they started to bill me. My fault for not telling them earlier. That shouldn't be a problem, I think, but when I mentioned that I needed to double check the batteries, the cashier was telling me that "I can't void an item, should inform me before i bill. Now i should ask my manager to remove it " . Later, the cashier brought up the matter with the manager, acting more like a complaint—as if I had stolen something. Even the manager is telling me the same as though its a big mistake to remove an item from the list .When a cashier cannot remove an item without the manager's consent or approval, what good is their job? It's best to check out on your own; that's when assistance and item removal arrive. It's up to you and not my problem if you guys can't delete an item without the manager's approval. Do you still want me to pay even if I have less money and am waiting to delete an item? or do you offer it for nothing? It has nothing to do with every cashier that works there. With the exception of the person I am referring about, every other employee is incredibly kind. For those nice folks over there, I'm giving you two stars.

Oh, how I wish I could put zero stars. Unfortunately it cannot be done. Tonight I came into this Dollarama and figured I brought the correct change for my purchase. The cashier had already scanned all my items when I realized I was short a few cents. I asked the cashier if he could void an item before the checkout. When he instantly got upset with me and said he would have to call the manager. He proceeded to call security on the PA system, and continued to check out other customers, when the manager finally arrived, after 10 min, he was very angry and agitated as it was the last half hour of his shift, he repeatedly told me not to let this happen again and to count my pennies next time I walk into his establishment.

Well organized store, well staffed so, despite its popularity, wait aren't too long. The security presence is more noticeable than at most stores, but as a downtown store they probably deal with more theft sadly

I find there stock is hit and miss. What you see today might be sold out next time and if you ask the staff they will tell you they don't know when they getting more. The prices of some stuff doesnt make sense like the 4 pack of toilet paper for $1.25 but the same kind as a 8 pack is $4.50 so your paying more than double the price but only getting double the productIt's always slow at checkout.

I don’t even want to give one star and that is because of the rude manager. I usually buy a lot of things from the store, and today I went back to return a defective ice tray. But the manager was so rude and he started blaming me for not checking the item before purchase. Being a customer it is expected that the products being offered for sale will be in best condition. Please do better!

I was here today and what a terrible experience. The store owner harasses everyone that comes into the store and the place is terribly messy. Today in particular I was harassed over spritzing one spray of a few different perfumes to find the one I wanted to get for my daughter. He told me that they don't offer samples and he has a business to run and products to sell. I stated there is no way to smell the perfume without spraying myself once. I was standing beside him so he could see that I was only spraying to check the smell. He told me to google it.If you're going to sell your cheap body mists, you'll need samples or next time a bottle may drop on the floor by accident during purchase.

For me this is the best Dollarama around. It seems to always have everything I need from the store. The staff are aways willing to help me even to carry my parcels out to my car since I am very old and everything is difficult for me. Except my time at this Dollarama.

Too many homeless people and Chem heads outside the store ... security follows people around ... but not the ones who are openly shop lifting

Poor management and understaffed. I was here yesterday and there was a huge lineup. The manager was arguing with a customer. There were like 2 people on cash who looked like they didn't know what they were doing like kept looking for the manager's help but he was clearly preoccupied. It was just an overall chaotic sight. The staff is also trained poorly like they don't seem to want to hire people with customer service experience because the cashier was very impatient and rude to me. I left the store not wanting to come back but I probably will because it's downtown and really convienient to go to. I wish they would get new management and hire new more experienced staff and not just like 2-3 people but a large solid team. I know it's a dollar store but it's also a very rich cooperation that I'm sure could afford to hire more minimum wage workers. I find at most Dollarama's they are severely understaffed and seem to hire people who are completely clueless when it comes to the customer experience (I work in customer service myself and I've had extensive training)

If you are in downtown Kitchener and looking for daily needs, it is very convenient but you might not find a parking spot near the store.
