Had to cancel an order on cheques an hour after I placed it through the branch. After realizing I don't need them, went back and tried to cancel but they were already being processed as received. Branch employee Omar went out of his way to help cancel them. Much appreciated!

I had a merchant charge me three times for the same thing. They told me they could do a refund right away, but only if the bank confirmed three separate charges pending.
I called the contact center and they confirmed the separate charges but the merchant wanted in in writing. I asked the teller who was on the phone what we could do to get what she was telling me into writing and she suggested we make a case number so she could send me the full details. After trying to do this, she realized she couldn’t send me any more than a generic confirmation of the case number. She said that to get the details in writing I would have to go to the branch.
I didn’t have the best experience at the branch for a couple reasons. The first is that it took me most of the day to get the answers I was looking for. This is because the information the call center had did not match the information the bank had. The bank was telling me they could see the case, but had no ability to print it. At the same time, I had the call center on the phone telling me that was not correct. Call center employees kept telling me that the branch absolutely could print the notes I was requesting. I didn’t want to be the middleman in the conversation so it got to the point where I actually passed my phone to the employee at the bank and watched them argue in circles with the call center. Eventually I had to get the call center to speak directly with the assistant manager to sort out who had the correct information. The branch was correct. It turns out the call center can’t print these details but I had to confirm this information before leaving so that the call center wouldn’t keep telling me to go to the branch. Unfortunately, this took most of my day. The length of time I had to be there negatively impacted my day and led to another problem.
As I was waiting, the branch manager came over to me and told me that the he would not be arriving for an hour and a half and asked me to go home and come back but that would have been even more inconvenient for me. She then suggested I wait outside on the sidewalk during a heatwave but I didn’t feel safe doing that.
20 minutes later she came back and told me I’d been harassing her staff and I had to leave or she would call the police. I asked her what I had done to make her staff feel harassed but she wouldn’t tell me. I knew her threat to call the police was a bluff as I hadn’t done anything unprofessional. I did not appreciate the accusation and the threat. I told her that if she needs me to leave, she can trespass me from the property and that there would be no reason to involve the police as I would leave immediately. She confirmed I was not trespassing and I certainly hadn’t harassed anyone so I asked her what she expected the police to do. She immediately went and got the assistant manager to help me. No, it did not take an hour and a half like I’d been told. The assistant manager was able to help me sort out the correct information.
With the exception of the branch manager, every employee there tried to help me as best they could. The bank also covered the fees associated with moving the necessary funds around to avoid missed payments. I also received an apology from the bank so I’ve given them 3 stars.
The call center later confirmed to me that the only things I had done to lead them threatening to call the police was following the call centers instructions to stay in the branch and that I was frustrated. I’m not going to deny that I likely seemed frustrated even though I was professional and calm. Since the rest of the staff do a great job, this bank is likely going to be fine for most purposes but I would recommend avoiding this bank if you have any sort of issue that may be frustrating or take time to resolve. To avoid the attention of the branch manager, try to blend in. Put on a good poker face so they don’t think your frustrated if you have to get an issue resolved here, and business casual couldn

When I entered the bank, the tellers were not busy with other customers, but nobody greeted me. The day before my visit to the bank, all the three ATMs ran out of money. The teller that served me didn't know the difference between a bank and an acquiring system such as Master Card, and was less useful than the bank's online system. I will never ever go to the bank in person again. Also, even Walmart has a better user interface for credit cards than Scotia.

27th Dec and this bank is closed until 3rd January 2023 this is totally disgusting only one atm machine working so you know that won't be by the end of day, I needed currency exchanged so now Wil have to go to Windsor.

Customer service is good in person. All though getting a hold of them via phone can be a struggle. I called and left the bank manger a complainant about my checks not going through and he never called me back. Very disappointed as this was my first check I wrote out and it bounced for no reason and then I got charged a 35$ fee for my check not going through to my financial advisor. I called the help line online and they said the bank manger would give me a call back on Monday, but they never did. Then again I called and left a message and he never called back. As a student this was very time consuming and effected my school schedule because I was waiting for a call back and waste valuable time trying to get a hold of the bank. All though when I went into the branch they did reimburse me for the 35$ fee and were very helpful when I talked to Elfadil Rahama. Overall I would say this is a good bank in person but the online services is extremely poor.
