Absolutely beautiful and amazing place to visit, with clean and clear water

The weather was great, there was a market happening at the beach, it was crowded everywhere, as it should be, and the group had a heck of a time on the trails. The bathroom facilities were somewhat in need, but the picnic area was rocking

TENT CAMPERS WARNING.We booked this “campsite” having never been to Lion’s head and we did not know the area well. We were a little suspicious when we realized that the site was in the middle of town, but did not expect what we saw when we got there. If you are used to provincial parks or really any other campground for tenting, this is NOT the space for you. Firstly, it is hardly a campground, and more of a stretch of lawn that mostly holds tightly packed trailers. There was no camp store that we could see or anything similar, we didn’t even know where we could buy firewood. It’s possible this was available at the marina but we didn’t make it that far. We drove down the lawn and back and finally realized our “campsite” was just a slice of lawn the end of the lane, next to a construction style fence that separated it from the public beach. You could see in the backyards of people who lived on the street in front of it. Another “tent site” we took a picture of was separated from someone’s yard by a chain link fence. The sites had fire pits and picnic tables, but no privacy whatsoever, and no real indication even of where your site ended and the next one started. We were actually so shocked and disappointed that we ended up driving out of town and calling around to nearby campgrounds to see if we could get a last minute site elsewhere. For backpackers who just need a place to sleep after hiking the trail, maybe this place makes sense. If you are like us and want to be able to really set up and hangout at your campsite for a few days, this is not the place for you. There are much nicer options not far out of town for a real tent camping experience. I wish we had read a review like this before we booked because there is no way we would have paid $40/night for this site if we had known. It was well worth it for us to eat the cost and pay extra to stay somewhere else.

I don’t know who rated this well, it’s not “camping” first of all. Super crowded, on top of each other backed onto the neighbourhood. Noisy people directly behind us in houses, mostly seasonal people who are rude and earwigs everywhere. Definitely NOT worth 40$ a night, they should use some of that money to try to control the earwigs because it’s absolutely disgusting. They were in everything, you can’t get in and out of your tent without them falling on you. Never again, do yourself a favour and pick somewhere else. The location of it is nice if you’re hiking lions head and there are showers, literally the only positive.Restrooms: Seem cleaned regularly but still earwigs and hair

Very small beach that shares private space with the pier where loads of boats are docked. Well worth the visit however, sand is clean.

Small but possibly convenient campground run by the town if you can get a spot. PROs: Right by the water downtown, washrooms looked clean, run by the town. CONs: Many spaces already taken by full timers with fully built wooden porches that don't look very pretty either, not many spots available, sites are wide open without any cover, difficult to turn into property.

Not a great spot for groups of backpackers. They have a strict one tent per campsite policy, and so a trio of us with small tents and no vehicles had to spend $40 each for our own individual sites. We easily could've fit all three tents on one site, however we weren't given any leniency. The campground was cramped like most private campsites, though the people seemed nice. The restrooms seemed to be cleaned often.

Loved this campground. Great sunset views and clean washrooms. There is giant hogweed in the area and poison ivy along side all of the trails. Be mindful of the harmful plants in the area.

Lion's Head is one of my favourite places to visit and the beach park is no exception. The beach is beautiful and sandy with a good mixture of sun and shade. In early July the water is very cold, but warms up as the season goes on.Public bathrooms are available and are relatively clean. On Saturday mornings in the summer there's a farmers market on the beach full of wonderful people selling some amazing local goods, I particularly like the bakeries and goat/beef farmers that show up.

What a heavenly place! It's a joy to kayak here and see the boats in the marina. You can also swim, attend concerts on certain nights, walk on the rocky shore of the bay, and more! The campground looks completely full. How lucky people are who get those spots!

Very cute little campground with the sand beach and kids playground just steps away. Rock beach on the grounds but the camp area is grass. Has picnic benches and a fire pit at each site. Head office is at the marina. Bathrooms and beach are accessible friendly.

Amazing views of Lion's Head and the harbour. The campground is also right next to the beach. From the campground you can easily launch your kayak, go for a swim or go for a hike to Lion's Head lookout point. Bathrooms are super clean compared to other campsites. All my photos are taken from Site 4. Best site in my opinion. Bonus information: The camp is also close to Foodland which is great for getting wood and groceries.

Better scenery than Bruce peninsula park and the grotto. Hike is a little challenging to get to the lookout, but it’s well worth it. Also, park on the street below the park and walk up instead of taking the $35 bus.
