We have shopped here for over 50 years because of our shoe size. I have taken shoes out on credit and was able to return them. Now they will not do that...instore credit only. Too bad because I would have bought 2 of their ancient pair of shoes. I went to another store in London...no questions asked and I was allowed to take a pair for trial by simply leaving my card number. Guess where I will shop now?

I had bought keen work boots from knapps in listowel, it hasn't even been a month yet & the rubber under the toes on both boots are already tearing apart, I can't return them or get a refund & exchange, absolutely ridiculous how 300$ boots fall apart in under a month... never again will I buy boots from there again!!!

I was convinced that customer service is a thing of the past. Wherever I go it is non existent or hardly there. I was in for a nice surprise shopping at Knapp's in Listowel. The saleslady was one of a kind. Very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and patient and I left the store happy with my purchase and well looked after.Thank you!

On 30 August 2022, I purchased a pair of shoes from Knapp's store. These shoes were Knapp's recommendation as they did not carry the model of shoe I requested. After four months, these shoes crippled me, which was a surprise until the Chiropodist I saw learned they were unisex [men] shoes—men's shoes fit men, not women. I contacted the shoe manufacturer as I wanted a refund on these shoes. The letter I received from them on 6 January 2023 stated, "To receive the refund, you must go to Knapps and return the worn footwear." This was done on 15 February 2023. I returned the shoes, as requested by the manufacturer, to Knapp's store in Listowel. Knapps told me they do not give refunds; they have never given refunds in 70 years. They have refunded if you go to their online page and see the umpteen complaints against them. I was told that they would contact the manufacturer that they had the shoes for them to send me a cheque for the money. The manufacturer, again, claims they have talked with Knapps and that a refund will come. That is what was supposed to happen the first time on 15 February 2023.Update: April 2023. The shoe manufacturer sent Knapps a credit memo, meaning Knapps received the money back and still refused to refund me my money for these shoes. I reported Knapps to the Kitchener BBB, and to date, they have yet to respond to the Kitchener BBB. This business rates "0" stars. I do not believe I have ever dealt with such rude and ignorant owners as I did at Knapps. Neither have I dealt with such a dishonest operated business run by the same. Consider keeping your money, shop elsewhere.

Do not shop here!I don’t usually leave bad reviews but I have to say something about Knapps. Sorry this is long but needs to be told.My mom bought a pair of New Balance shoes here in May. She tried to do an exchange within their ridiculous “7 day exchange policy “ but instead they ordered the half size down for her to try and told her to take the original ones home until they came in, so she did. She returned when they came in, outside the exchange window, and they were too small. My mom didn’t know what to do. The associate told her she could keep trying the original shoes for up to 30 days inside the house, then exchange or get store credit if they didn’t work out at that point. I returned with her when I came to visit, I live 6 hours away, and they refused quite rudely, sighting the 7 day policy and stating they look “worn”, which they were, inside, as instructed! We asked to speak to the manager and she refused sighting “he was busy”.We left obviously angry and upset, but did not make a scene, though I wanted to.I know NB has a 45 day satisfaction guarantee and that Knapps isn’t honouring it with their poor customer service policy. After calling New Balance, we were directed to return the shoes to one of their stores for a complete refund. Unfortunately the closest store is 1.5 hours from here, but fortunately I am here and can get it done. It’s wonderful that New Balance has this amazing customer service, and my mom isn’t out over $200.We will never set foot in this Knapps store, or any of the other shoe stores associated with them here in Listowel. This store takes advantage of people who can’t get to the city and have nowhere else to shop. Unless you are certain of your purchase, do not buy anything here. Even then I’d drive to the city if you can.

I bought new winter boots for both of my daughters this fall from Knapp's. Both of my girls were happy with their boots - until yesterday. A seam pulled away in the same spot on both boots and it was allowing snow slush into the boots making for very cold little feet. I called Knapp's and they told me I could bring them in with proof of purchase. We did just that the same day. While they did not have the exact same colour of boot in stock they replaced our leaking ones with the same boot model/size in a different colour (colour didn't matter to us) with absolutely no problem. I am very happy they exchanged the faulty ones. We will most definately shop here again.

I made the mistake of coming here to pickup some waterproof boots. I was assured by the salesperson that the pair I had was waterproof. I go home with the box and look it up online to find that they are not in fact waterproof at all. I go back and explain the situation and all I get is a shrug (not even an apology) and an offer to pay them more to buy waterproofing spray which they claim will work. How can anyone take them on their word on this? They never offered to see if they have the actual waterproof model in stock or could order it from the vendor. No returns "because their system" only allows for exchanges or store credit. So I can be lied to or fed false information again? If you don't know, say you don't or look it up - don't just make it up or say anything to close a sale. To any prospective customers: don't waste your money or your time going here. They do not value your business.

Mum always said "If you can't say something nice about anyone, don't say anything at all." So, mother dearest, I love you very much and your advice has always been wise, so since I can't say anything nice about Knapp's, I won't say anything nasty at all, although I could... but I won't.
