Yesterday I was sad to find out that the owners sold the store. The new owners seem fine, I just would have liked to say goodbye to some of the most friendly store owners around. I will miss them. Store name was changed to Anytime Variety.

Kane and his family run one of the few remaining family-owned variety stores, which is a rarity these days. It’s no surprise that they treat their regular customers like family as well. Kane and his girlfriend Angel have been an asset to Old East since moving here a few years back! Their prices are pretty on par with every other small convience store!! Kane has even opened his store back up after closing for the night for me because I was running late. Not many store owners go that distance!! Always pleasant to deal with and his dad always greets me even if we are downtown nowhere near the store at all and we are out walking

Stay away , be aware, cheap photo got rejected at passport office , now making excuses and not refunding , made complaint to consumer court.also refused to provide receipt , not sure if they are hiding taxes.Edit: when I was passport office he told me bring the pictures and receipt , he didn’t ask me about rejection letter otherwise I would asked the passport officers. He clearly mentioned that the face of baby is covered by blanket. No one mentioned ink. I admit my mistake going for cheap options , I showed him shopper drug mart receipt and returned his photos.how mad I was shopper drug mart charged 28 cad and this guy charged 25 including tax , seems he never pays tax as lot of people complaining about receipt. I will keep follow-up with consumer office and police.others take care.Edit 2: passport officer was kind enough to give rejection letter and I was refunded .moved from 1 star to 4 star.

My husband went to that store and shipped a package for FedEx and the chinese woman didn't give a receipt to my husband and she didn't return label on the box. I don't know if they're honest or not. I don't trust them. They probably took the package and used it for their own use.UPDATE:We have no proof that they will send the package. Also, they're not apologetic either on my review. And also, the woman did not help my husband but just said to put the label on the counter. We are not experienced on posting and packaging.Anywho, we will have to wait and see and hopefully they'll do the job properly and honestly and send the return package.I will have an update when we know the package was sent and received.??
