Received a delivery recently only to find that of the bag of oranges, all were spongy and four were rotten. Have purchased barbecued chicken in the past that was so old that it was bone dry. Again, had to be discarded. Prices are high, quality is low. Happily, there are other options. This used to be a fine place to shop. Those days, in my experience, are over.

This must be one of the most expensive grocery stores in Ottawa relative to the quality of stuff.
You know how people post pictures of prices of things in Nunavut so you can gasp at the excessive cost of things there? No need to go to Nunavut, just hop into this YIG and try and buy strawberries for 10 bucks or feta cheese for 35 bucks. Better hope you don't accidentally pick up anything from the organic section.
Good availability of stuff, though.

I tried to return moldy strawberries (didn't see the buried moldy ones when I purchased them) less than 24 hours after purchase. Store would not refund or exchange. Lost an 8 year customer for life for the sake of a few bucks. Congrats!

To the girl who was our cashier October 13th 2024 at 4:19 pm, I think her name was Sam. Thank you for sprinting across the parking lot after we were driving away to give us our Deli meat which was forgotten on the counter. We need more young people like this girl. You deserve more then whatever they are paying you.

The masked female bodyguard with the angry gaze at the self checkout really needs to tone it down an few notches. Lol! She gives the word uncomfortable a whole new meaning. (She does this every single time, just felt like posting about it today, as she was extra creepy.)
Not everyone steals, therefore don't stare people down as if they are. So awkward it's almost laughable!
I left with 7 over priced items, holes burned into me and $75 less in my bank account. Lol! Unpleasant vibes all around!

There are no baskets at this location, so if you're thinking of shopping just a few things, expect to carry everything in your palms - and perhaps drop a few items along the way.
My $5 enoki mushrooms appeared to be moldly, so that's a loss.
