Awful experience. For background, I had not checked BMO online banking for some time until this morning. I was upset to see that my chequing account plan had been upgraded to one with a higher minimum account amount and I had been charged a higher plan fee for the past three months. BMO had never communicated this change with me, nor have I agreed to it.
I went to this branch to have them revert it back to my previous plan and get my refund for the incorrect charges. I was helped by a gentleman at the counter, who then had to get help from Kitty. Even though Kitty was polite, some of what she said was questionable and inconsiderate of the client. No one apologized to me for making the mistake. Even if you did not personally make the mistake, you are still representing the company. Kitty tried to tell me I was on the student plan, that's why they updated the plan after the student plan expired. I said I did not receive any such communication. Unfortunately, I could not back up her claim at the time because I did not have the app, but when I got home to check online banking, I was not on the student plan as I had been charged the plan fee before. So why would Kitty say incorrect information to a customer? Not a good look. She then stated that it was a good thing I came to the branch within three months or else I would not have gotten a refund. ??? BMO made the mistake and I have to pay for their mistake? Lastly, she had the audacity to sell BMO products to me, an upset customer, while resolving the situation. READ THE ROOM. BMO already lost my trust in handling my money - why would I want to sign up for more products with them? Disgusting.

The worst experience, I don’t even want to give it 1 star. No one answered my calls in the morning, and no one responded to my messages. When I went to the counter, there was no one to greet me. The attitude was cold and rude!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I tried to close a bank account, waited 30 minutes. Then spent 30 minutes with the teller, only to wait for a manager to close the account. Then I was told the account can’t be closed because it’s the first of the month. Why did I spend over 30 minutes with the teller and wait for a manager for them to tell me that after the fact? Complete waste of time.

I wish if i can give negative but the manager at this branch is very unprofessional she doesn’t even care about customer has to run business kept me waiting till review my account just to increase my atm limit its disaster service

I wish to give negatives stars if I could. The retail banking is a disaster at this branch. The staff were always chatting and laughing instead of helping the next customer. The staff told my family member that he cannot release any information of the deposit if the account owner was not in the branch. But he printed the receipt with MY ACCOUNT BALANCE and gave to my family member. Confidentiality uh?I then asked the branch to verify the bank draft and release hold. I have personally called at least 3 times a day and left voice mails. This branch did not get back to me. My lawyer also faxed this branch, there was no response as well. Finally someone called me 6 days after which I no longer needed help.Now I have kept all the records I called the branch and also my lawyer’s fax confirmation. I am filing a formal complaint at BMO.

My savings account got fraud has two unauthorized transactions total amount of $6k BMO refused to give me back my money, plz save ur money to another bank because apparently the security guarantee in BMO is absolutely ZERO!

Had an appointment with the loan banker to fund for my education and left with disappointed when the banker does not provide you any alternative ways or even appeal with credit department for my case. She gave a poker face and told us, “there is nothing we could do.”

Very bad experience. The staff cannot speak proper English. They don’t have proper knowledge of bank accounts. I showed them the offer online and still she could not help. Neither the manager was interested to talk and solve the problem. Wasted 45 min and had to go to Td and open my kids accounts. Td experience is 100 times better.Unfortunately they give more importance to Chinese customers only and the entire staff and Manager is Chinese. Not a good sign.

I echo others that this BMO Branch, for some reason are NOT good at answering any phone inquiries. Even if you call the direct phone #, the staff don't seem to answer or call back. If you leave a voice message to the main line, it may never or take 2 to 3 days for someone to call back. We are living on a day and age where emails and phone calls are the normal communications yet it looks like if you don't go in person, you won't get any communications from them. That's the frustrating part.However, if you are looking for a good staff from this branch to assist you, try reaching out to Andrea Yang, she speaks and write good English, she is knowledagable of your needs and she is responsive. Moreover, she is 1-step ahead of what you need. If you have questions about a product or want to cancel something, she will provide you with links related to the INFO/Products that you are asking or she will provide a document for to you sign and add or cancel products, she takes the initiatives and put thoughts into your needs.Andrea was able to assist me with my banking in such quick time that I appreciate her assistance dearly.Thank you Andrea.

Met with a financial planner today to inquire about some investments. Shirley zheng was terrible. I sensed a lot of attitude when I was asking questions about my various accounts and investment options. Also felt like I was leading the meeting rather than getting educated... Honestly felt like a waste of my time and left the appointment early out of discomfort. Decided to invest my money with a different institution.

Most racist branch ever! Went in to withdraw $1800 cash at the teller and they asked for my debit card, pin and verbal password. She then asked for my drivers license and took it to the branch manager and made me wait 20 minutes before giving me my money. It's amazing how it takes this long to withdraw your own money. I then asked to raise my ATM withdraw limit so I don't need to go through this and I was told bmo had a max limit of $5000 which I know isn't true then I was told I need to go to my home branch. Then I was told I'm not eligible. It's absurd they treat customers this way. Just a background I have above 800 credit score and the money in the account that I was withdrawing is my own. Go here if you want to be discriminated against.
