Hub Climbing Markham is a 20,000 square foot indoor rock climbing gym designed for climbers of every level, from kids to experts. It services the Toronto, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and Markham areas. The facility features boulder archways, a 23-foot tall free bouldering challenge over a foam pit, and 22 roped climbing routes that use auto-belays. The number of auto belays is impressive and is super friendly for solo climbers. There is a separated beginners climbing area for kids, and the gym proudly offers rock climbing camp adventures, with staff noted for their professionalism and skill in engaging children. Reviews highlight that the staff are great and the environment is welcoming. Climbers find the route setting solid and consistent, with a good variety of fun climbs and bouldering problems, including comp-style routes. The climbs are changed weekly, which is awesome for keeping things interesting. Many climbers always enjoy coming here and would definitely come back, recommending it to beginners and advanced climbers alike. However, some aspects affect the overall experience. The evenings get very busy, sometimes overwhelmingly so. Several reviews mention cleanliness concerns, noting that the bathrooms are not very clean and that the foam pit area is not cleaned very often. A strong foot odor upon entering is also shocking and noticeable, suggesting a need for better ventilation or cleaning. Additionally, the music played is frequently mentioned as annoying and takes away from the experience for some. Despite these points, it is generally considered a great place to climb with plenty of variety.

My kid likes to go here. The price is fair and room temperature is good and comfortable during the winter time.

This was the 2nd time we signed up for HUB’s summer camp. I’m really impressed with the staff for their professionalism, skills, and engaging the kids to evolve their climbing skills, staying safe as well to have fun. Highly recommend the HUB for beginners to more advanced climbers. It’s such a welcoming environment.
