It is my pleasure to highlight Sumehyah at this Michael Hill location who has very empathetic to understand the circumstance that my family was in when it came to returning an item. Unfortunately, Michael Hill's return information for gifts is not noted on their receipt and we came in to return / exchange and we were past a certain amount of days where we were no longer allowed to make the exchange. Sumehyah was very helpful in fixing that for us, thank you so much Sumehyah for going out of your way to help your customers.

On October 4, 2024 around 2pm I visited the Michael Hill Markville location in search for an engagement ring. I was open to trying all styles and sizes since this was my VERY FIRST time shopping for rings. I was greeted by an older Asian lady and I must say, she was the most unprofessional and disrespectful worker I’ve ever encountered. I came in with my 2 sisters and they also got the same vibe off her. She was NOT helpful, she was NOT friendly and she lacked basic customer service skills. The way that she spoke to me and looked at me and my sisters was disgraceful. I spent less than 5 minutes in the store because she made us feel very uncomfortable. I immediately went to Peoples upstairs and had the complete opposite experience. They were very helpful, answered all my questions and talked to me like I was a human being. !!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO MICHAEL HILL MARKVILLE !!!. I highly recommend going to People’s where they actually help you with what you are looking for.
Fast forward a few hours later. I had told my girlfriends about the experience I had at Michael Hill Markville and not to my surprise, they ALSO had bad experiences at this location and apparently have this bad reputation. Had I known before hand, I wouldn’t have wasted my time.

I purchased a bracelet and necklace from Michael Hill Jewelry about a year ago. Recently, I visited the Markville location to have them repaired. To my surprise, they quoted me $55 for each item to fix them. I felt this was excessive, so I declined and went to another Michael Hill store, where they repaired both pieces for only $10 each. The employee at the second location even mentioned that the Markville store was trying to overcharge me.
I would advise against shopping at the Michael Hill Markville location.

BUYER BEWARE!!! this markville mall location has the most horrible customer service. After reading a bit more, seems like A LOT of the michael hill stores are like this horrible location!! LOOK AT ALL THE 1 STAR REVIEWS!! the higher stars are most likely from the store employees or friends. DO NOT GO HERE specially because of LOW QUALITY jewelleries for the high cost!
None of the sales person were willing to help and just look at you rudely. How are you still employed??????? michael hill headquarters! please audit this store!
DO NOT be duped and go buy elsewhere. Earrings bought online were DEFECTIVE and with numerous help from others, including the salesperson in store at markville mall after her seeing i wont back down, the earrings could not go thru my ear holes, so even though i didn't like them, i still can't even wear them! The store would not honor to do even an exchange!, the saleslady herself could not put in these earrings on my ears! Nor do a refund (this super teeeny weeeny earrings that looked a lot bigger online) AND, why??????
NON-REFUNDABLE due to COVID????? she said!! Ridiculous! No other jewellers are putting this on their fine print at all. Let alone this fine print was not known to me until the item was delivered!!!!!!
AVOID MICHAEL HILL. you won't be happy with your purchase. Bring your business elsewhere. CLOSES THIS STORE DOWN!!!!!!

I purchased today a beautiful ring from Cynthia! She was helpful and assisted me with good suggestion. She explained everything to me in details of how the warranty works and to make sure that I keep the certificate of the ring.
This Michael Hill location has an impeccable customer service experience. The store manager is around engaging with the customers. She’s available to assist other customers for pick up and made sure that everyone is addressed and that no customer left unattended.
To top it all they gave me a box for my recent purchased at another location. They felt bad that I wasn’t given one and that the supervisor at the other location was asking me “are you sure you need a box” shouldn’t that be a standard gesture. Anyway Michale Hill, Markville Mall location is definitely the jewelry store worth visiting.
The energy, the vibe and the atmosphere at that location is inviting, you can see and feel that the staff have good rapport with both towards each other that reflects on how they deliver an excellent customer service.
Keep up the good work to Cynthia and to all her team! The store manager is so humble that she was proud to say that Cynthia trained her! Now that’s WOMAN IN POWER!!!

My sales associate Gurpeet was truly a pleasure to deal with. She is personable and very conscientious. Gurpeet handled the paperwork for professional care on three rings diligently and spent considerable time removing some knots on a necklace. Although I did not purchase anything on my visit I will not hesitate to return to this Michael Hill location to have Gurpeet’s excellent service.

I purchased a ring for my fiancee earlier this month, and felt extremely uncomfortable the entire time!.....The manager (brown lady working there) made me feel Extremely uncomfortable from beginning to end!!!!She asked way too many questions and was extremely nosy, extremely bothersome, and made the experience so terrible and extremely painful....Asked way tooo many personal questions i dont why she thought she could do that...I will never return here once i pick up the newly finished ring i deposited my money for...Respect is earned not given.and especially not given jus for being fake and annoying and so bothersome.Also the brown guy working there LIED TO ME Blatantly and told ME to apply.for something that would not do a credit inquiry OR CREDIT CHECK, but HE BLATENTLY LIED To my FACE.Honestly i shud file consumer complaint but i dont have that much time.The service is absolutely terribleAnd as a human being i am disgusted by them and so is my fiance.We will go to any miachel hill but the one in markville mall going forward....The manager and their staff are all wastes acting like they can say anything they want jus cuz i baught a $2k ring....Stay in your (small) lane....And stop making everything about you, nobody cares about you. We came for the ring and wont be coming to that store after we pick up the new ring.To the manager:You made MY FIANCE FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE, i hope your husband is proud of you.And to the brown guy who thinks hes smart, please know your just a customer service employee and people come to purchase a ring not to get to yo know you.IM ONLY STUPID IF YOU THINK IM STUPID...!
