I wish I could give zero stars.
My experience with this mechanic was nothing short of a nightmare. I was looking to buy a used 2009 Honda Civic from him, and he told me the car only needed some brake work and a little rust repair. He assured me it would take one week to get everything sorted and ready for pickup. Simple enough, right? Wrong.
Week 1 passes — no updates, no car, no communication. I wait patiently.
Week 2 — again, nothing. No calls, no texts, nothing proactive. I had to reach out myself just to get any kind of information.
Week 3 — still no car, no word. I finally call him again, and then he starts throwing out excuses. Apparently, the “rust guy” is so so so busy that he hasn’t been able to take the car in for three whole weeks — for a job that would supposedly only take one day. Why wasn’t this mentioned up front? Why wasn’t the car booked earlier, knowing I urgently needed it for work? No apology, no sense of urgency, just excuses.
By Week 4, I was beyond frustrated. Still nothing. I had to continue chasing him down for updates. Not once did he bother to contact me first. If you value your time or basic communication, this is not the place for you.
Eventually, in week 4, he finally claims the car is back from the rust guy and that the brake job has been done. Great — progress, right? Except he then takes the car in for a safety inspection and, surprise surprise, it fails. Turns out there are more issues with the car. Why didn’t he, a mechanic himself, check the vehicle properly before trying to get it safetied? That’s part of the job, and frankly, it’s just common sense. How do you sell a car and not know the actual condition of it? His excuse, “there are surprises”. There can only be surprises when you don’t inspect a car properly which he did not.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt yet again. He supposedly fixes those issues and then takes it back to the safety guy. And what happens next? Fails again. MORE issues that weren’t caught before. By this point, we’re in Week 5 and I still don’t have the car. A job that was promised to take 1 week has dragged on for over a month, and there’s still no end in sight.
To top it all off, when I voiced my completely valid frustration to him, he tells me he “doesn’t like the way I’m talking to him.” Excuse me? I’m the customer — one who’s been more than patient through this entire drawn-out ordeal. If anything, I should be the one saying I don’t like the way he handled the situation. No professionalism, no punctuality, and absolutely no respect for his customers’ time or needs.
If you’re considering buying a car from this person or leaving your vehicle with him for repairs — think twice. He doesn’t communicate, doesn’t follow timelines, and doesn’t take responsibility for delays or oversight. He expects you to chase him for updates, and when you do, he gets defensive.
Completely unprofessional.
Completely unreliable.
Completely disrespectful.
Save yourself the time, energy, and money. Look elsewhere.

Er. Magdy is a excellent doc for all the automotive Issues . I had trouble with my car (Water pump- Those who have Explorer can relate to it) which was bad due to which I was turn down by couple of other auto repair shops . Also I did went out to Ford Dealers and got a quote that was too expensive (better to buy a new car or get a Mortgage to get it fixed from dealers offered quote ) finally a very close friend of mine connected me to Er. Magdy ,not only did he diagnosed the problem but fixed it in couple of days also he did changed the worn out parts like spark plug , gaskets etc etc at an extremely reasonable price .

I know Magdy for nearly 15 years, honest guy, knows is stuff, punctual and reliable and reasonable pricing wise.
Honesty is a key word when it comes to car mechanics, I recommend Magdy 150%

Bought a used car from him, within the first 3 weeks the egr systems electrical gave out, high beams and headlights died, and come to find out the entire engine block is held together with the wrong silicon and is degrading causing leaks to the engine and transmission. His word of “bring it back if you have any issues” was quickly disregarded and replaced with “well it’s a used car it has issues” wouldn’t trust this man to put training wheels on my bike. I’m now out over $2500 or a car and have to decide which is going to be more cost effective.

This is an excellent service/repair shop. I brought my car here for seasonal tire change and routine maintenance. It was very easy to schedule a time with Magdi, who is courteous and professional. My service was completed promptly, and his prices are competitive. You won't regret coming here - very convenient location in Markham, near Markville Mall.Out of curiosity, I checked out the one-star reviews posted, and they're all from professional reviewers who either leave one-star reviews everywhere or are paid to leave negative reviews for mechanic shops.
