  BEWARE THIS HILLBILLY BANK AND ITS CRITICAL MASS OF KARENS - My husband and I visited the Scotia Bank in Mattawa to deposit a cheque that was in his name, to my account. The woman we spoke to - who ironically introduced herself as the Customer Service manager despite being unpleasant and unhelpful - told us she “didn’t have to take the cheque” since it was over $5k. She further said we should “drive the cheque back to Ottawa where it was issued.” I’m a Scotia Bank client and the cheque was issued to my husband (who had identification with him) from anther Scotia Bank. We also made it clear that we had no problem having a hold put on the cheque for five days.

  Would not recommend this establishment to have hold over your finances. This bank has caused me so many false insufficient funds it’s unbelievable! Not to mention the attitude of their service reps, it’s disgusting! Definitely do some digging before you put your money in the hands of these crooks!
