We had a very positive experience with one of the employees, Colin. He helped us assemble a hose reel that came without instructions. He was pleasant, helpful and took his time with us, explaining everything. Thanks Colin!

Some people really shouldn’t work in retail!
Don’t judge a book by its cover, sorry I had paint on my clothes,
My first time visiting the store today as a contractor with numerous accounts held with different home hardware stores, I politely asked if I could get the 10% discount at the paint desk, I was told “ I only mix paint you will need to talk to someone else” I moved to the information desk only to be told after the gentleman looked at my account number and recent invoice from the haliburton Home Hardware, “we can’t give discounts unless you have an account” I replied “ok can I please open an account, “you have to prove yourself first by spending $12,000 first” was the reply ! Nice job guys!! I actually spend over $30,000 per year on paint alone, I will never visit this store again. You know the satisfied customer that tells 10 people about a company and the dissatisfied customer that tells everyone they meet, yep you got it.

This store has gone downhill,since it's under new ownership...Most staff could care less if you are in there to purchase an item or need help with something..and have noticed the 2 or 3 that worked there before and were helpful,no longer work there...Tried getting some help with buying paint ,but ended up leaving with none after waiting nearly half hour...Person in paint started to help me ,butleft and went to mix paint for someone else and then on to help someone e wanting stain...and to boot wasn't very helpful to the guy wanting g stain ...I ended up leaving as I didn't have all afternoon to stand there,waiting...Not the first time I have left after not finding help for a purchase.Most staff are not very friendly either.. But that's Okay I made this my last trip to this store,and will buy my stuff somewhere else and support them....Disappointed

It's great having a Home Hardware in Minden. It may not be as big or have the variety of items as some of the stores in the cities but it's served me well in cottage country over the years.

Went in to buy a BBQ. Asked 4 different people who can get me the bbq from the back so I can buy not one person cared or even tried calling someone. I asked for a store manager and was told there isn't one. This is at 3 45 pm. Finally one employee that actually cared try to find someone but couldn't. I was told to maybe come back tomorrow. Not to mention during my time in there was talking to another customer who waited over 40 minutes for a plumbing rep to help and never received one and left. I am a full time year round resident in this town and will never shop here again. Everybody promotes buying local and this is a perfect example of why no one does.
