I had a disappointing experience at the Heartland Canadian Tire with their automotive service. I booked an appointment to change the rear brake pads, and I was initially quoted $240, including service charges. However, when I arrived, the service manager tried to tack on additional costs for things like lubricating the pads and replacing rotors, which were not mentioned beforehand. Just a week earlier, I’d had a full inspection done at a Volkswagen dealership, where they confirmed my rotors were in good condition and didn’t need replacement.
It felt like the service manager was just trying to upsell unnecessary work. After waiting an hour, I got a call saying they didn’t even have the proper tools to remove the calipers and would have to do it manually—adding an extra $108 to my bill. This place seems more interested in tricking customers into paying extra rather than providing honest service. I ultimately decided to take my business elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend going to this Canadian Tire location for any car service needs.

Don’t use their mechanical services at all. They waste your time for 3 hours just to do oil change which usually takes 15 minutes only in other places.

Needed to change the battery for my key fob. None of the mechanics could help. I don’t trust you with my car if you can’t open a key. Luckily I was able to figure it out myself.

I had my car serviced there, and I was disappointed with the experience. The manager was rude and didn't communicate well with customers. They initially charged me extra, and when I asked about it, his response was disrespectful. I recommend verifying charges before making any payments.

*AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS*
On Jan 31, 2024, my mother-in-law(MIL) experienced problems with her 2017 Kia Forte, while she was commuting to work from Cambridge to Mississauga. On the highway, she was having trouble getting the car up to speed and experienced low power issues.
As my MIL works close to this CT location, she brought it in to be looked at. The shop diagnosed the problem to be the transmission and determined it needed to be replaced.
My MIL being the sweet, unassuming Portuguese immigrant that she is, gave the shop the okay to go ahead with the work. In the time it took the work to be completed, my MIL needed to rent a car for a few days, in order to continue to be able to commute to work.
When the transmission was installed, the shop advised her to bring it back a week later "to have transmission fluid and functionality tested" and was handed a bill for $3824.32.
On February 8th, my MIL brought the car back and during their testing, they found the low power problem persisted. This time they diagnosed the problem to be the wheel bearings... At this point they set her up with another bill for $1079.67 to replace the front wheel bearings on both sides.
To make matters worse, after spending $4903.99, the problem persisted!..
My MIL then brought it in to her local Kia dealership and all they had to do was clean up the carbon build up in the exhaust..
In the process of the "repairs" done at Canadian Tire, they broke the clips on her front bumper and when she inquired, the shop told her it came in that way and they werent responsible. The front bumber replacement was another $800.
So all in, my MIL was on the hook for $5700 (not including the car rental she wouldnt have needed, if this was done properly) and they didnt come anywhere near fixing, or finding the issue. A common issue. A really common issue for Kia Fortes..
To go from, "the transmission needs to be replaced", to "we need to replace the wheel bearings", is either gross incompetence, or an outright scam.
Canadian Tire Automotive will never see another dollar from this family and if youve read this far, I advise you to do the same.

I had an event today and was looking at all Canadian tires to purchase anti slipp sand bags. Online for all stores would show they had some, however when getting to the store they could not find the product. I decided to call all Canadian tires within my area. I contacted the heartland town center location and spoke with Jasmine. Jasmine was very helpful and went above and beyond to ensure she found the product and even set it aside for me to purchase and pick up.Jasmine was very pleasant and professional on the phone. I appreciate dealing with excellent employees in the retail department and always try and make the effort to allow others to know. Thank you again Jasmine for all your help, keep up the amazing work!

I went to the store today to return a defective speaker, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Vadana at customer service was incredibly rude and dismissive from the start. She acted like we were a burden for simply asking for assistance, and her bad attitude made an already frustrating situation even worse. Customer service should be about helping people, but Vadana clearly didn’t care at all. Very unprofessional and unpleasant experience.

Went to buy an item designated as high value? They keep it in a special room by customer service. The first time this happened about 2 months ago, I waited 45 min for them to come back with the item. This time, it took the cashier 3 calls to different people to get someone to look for the item . The person who came was a manager who was so distracted in identifying the item, she left to do a totally unrelated activity. I eventually had to find her in the store and asked if she found someone else to find the item...and she thought someone else was looking for it. What has customer service come to? And this is a manager!! When they brought the item out, they then told me the item couldn't be returned or exchanged even if would be broken when I open it. Doesn't say that anywhere in there Big Red Flyer.... Another surprising and disturbing requirement after 45 min of waiting. And again shows you what customer service has come to.
