I have been going to this location for many years as it is my local card shop and have recently found myself very displeased with the service provided by the store and I’ve been searching out for better options locally. The prices they offer for most product is on par with other stores like 40 one games, which means that product is priced up as soon as it is possible to do so. This makes it harder for people with less financial freedom to get into the hobby and keep it exclusive for scalpers and heavy buyers. If you put in a little effort you can find much better prices nearby within the gta at other similar hobby shops. Furthermore, I find most of the employees Have trouble communicating with customers effectively and are ill educated on product. Often I find myself the only customer in the store and the employe would still be very confused and scrambling to figure out how to fulfil my requests. On another note, The grading service at the store is efficient, and I have found it very useful on a few occasions, that is, when you talk to an employee that knows how to accept your submissions. Moreover, the owner Christian seems to be the only well educated member of staff who is fully aware of what he’s talking about. I usually have a positive time dealing with him at the store but it is rare because he is often busy or not present. The store does deserve to be commended on the sheer amount of product they are able to provide to the community no matter how poorly it is done. Their competitive scene also seems to be well planned, only issue is the store gets very dense during tournaments and the players have trouble with personal hygiene so the whole place smells. I often find myself unable to shop if I enter during a tournament.
With that said, if my review were made 2-3 years ago it would have been a 5 star.

Staff are friendly and Pokemon singles are priced fairly. They seem to hold tons of tournaments so if you're into that, then this is the place for you.

From my experiences, The Upper Hand was a nice local card store. The staff members were friendly, made light banter which helped elevate my mood, and seemed quite knowledgeable about all sorts of card games. Prices of the products was quite fair in my opinion and they seem to have a decent assortment of items (for certain card games. If you like games like Pokemon, YGO, magic, etc. this is the store for you. As an SVE fan, the selection was quite limited, but that's the nature of a being a more niche game).

Watched the people in the shop scam someone out of an xy evolutions booster box for 700$ and a vivid voltage etb, have heard more then a few horror stories about how they run events and treat people running those events, as well as them resealing boxes stay away from this store. Go anywhere else but, why do you think the turn around for employees is so high…

Went here last night (around 9pm) with my boyfriend and the experience was awful. My boyfriend asked simple questions to which the owner made snarky remarks and unecessary comments. We have waited quite a while before being attended to, as well. He was very unprofessional and rude. We got uncomfortable so we just left. Wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. We would rather go to KanZen or Untouchables where they provide the best service, and they always go above and beyond for their customers.

Store, Owner and staff here are hands down truly AMAZING!. They take the time to educate young players and are always willing to help guide and teach.
The owner genuinely cares about his clients and over the past year our family have always received consistent professional, kind service! 10 Stars
Most recently the owner /staff helped us plan a kids event which was a HUGE HIT!! Over 20 kids!!
