Gosh I wasn't able to find anywhere to review these folks back when I bought from them (over six months ago) but now I've tripped over this while searching for other Ontario honey sellers.
Well the honey was delicious and a good price, I'll give them that, but due to horrible customer relations I will never buy there again.
I placed my order on the website after thoroughly reading almost every page (FAQs, shipping info, About Us etc) and then waited. After a few weeks I was wondering where my honey was so checked my account and the money had never been charged, so I assumed there had been a glitch.
I called the number off the website to see what was wrong. The woman there said that nothing was wrong, they just normally don't charge the customer promptly nor send a confirmation... huh? She went on and on for over five minutes about what a great idea this was, some rubbish about better security for the customer. It made no sense and anyway I didn't care. I just want a normal shopping experience, you know: they take my money, then give me a product? But apparently if that's what you want you need to go elsewhere, sigh.
So after ranting forever about her "great" system of not ringing through orders right away, this woman finally let me get in a couple words & you can guess what they were: "Uhm, when will I get the honey?" and she said she had no idea, her husband does the shipping and he doesn't like to go to the post office until he has a full truck worth of orders or something like that. Sigh.
I said it would be nice to know about the extreme delay BEFORE purchasing. She got attitude at that, telling me "We can't write it all over every single page of the website, there's only so much WE can do!" as if I was a moron. Well as I told you, I had read almost every word of their website and there was NO MENTION ANYWHERE about any delays. After her lip on the matter I again scoured the site- no, zero mention of it at all. Not on the FAQ, the individual product pages, the shipping info page, the checkout page, nowhere. Sure, you "can't write it everywhere" but you wrote it literally NOWHERE. It is not my fault I didn't psychically know that this weird company only fills orders when they get around to it!
So I asked her if she could find out from her husband if he's anywhere close to having enough orders to send them. She said absolutely, she'd ask as soon as he came home and call me THAT NIGHT. I said "If it isn't going to be sent within about one week I don't want it anymore, I can only wait so long!" and she said she understood.
Well she never called me back (and I know I should have called myself but I have very bad health and can't spare much energy for fighting) so I was hoping she had either sent the honey or followed my instructions and cancelled the order.
After waiting another couple weeks I figured it was the latter and ordered some honey from somewhere else. If Bee Sweet had actually charged my Visa like a normal shop would, I could have had the bank cancel the charge, thus cancelling the order for certain, but because of their weird system of hanging onto one's credit card info and only ringing it through on shipping day, this power was taken out of my hands.
Then the Bee Sweet honey showed up. About two months after ordering. What am I gonna do at that point, ship it back? Like I said, i don't have the energy for fighting. So I just kept it and the other honey I'd ordered in the meantime, and we had a pantry full of tons of honey (I'd stocked up, we're talking like 20lbs of honey from each seller ha!) but whatever, it keeps.
There's no reason for them to behave so strangely. Just put on the "shipping info" page that you only ship every few months so there may be a delay! Send out a order confirmation so people know the order went through! But she seemed rea
